uk banks

what with eb and pp playing ball right now

its been a good time to knock up some spare accs

but uk banks are not as easy as they were 12 months ago

been turned down by 3 uk banks last few days

so its all good havingsteath accs but what about if you cant get a bank acc

what options do we have here

all banks do a credit check via the norm experian credit service and if your score there is low its curtains for the acc you get refusal after refusal

which also keeps knocking your credit score down by the way

Have to be careful opening banks accounts.

Need to spread it out over months, not days.

You can get bank accounts that do not need a credit check.

Basic account applications only incur a basic ID check not a credit check.

Apply for basic accounts and you may be more successful. Tell the branch staff you have credit score issues and therefore only want to apply for a basic account.

Why did you not stop after the first problem? Standard action if there are credit issues is to apply for a basic account. We have spoken of this months ago.
Go very carefully now.

When did you last get a copy of your credit report? Make a point of checking it at least once a year

Are you sorted yet for a bank account?

All the advice that can be given has been given.

As mentioned try applying for a basic account with a bank

You could try some of the prepaid cards that have bank accounts attached.

Most of them, apart from the card issuing, aren't too bad in terms of fees.

In the UK, every bank will give you a basic bank account no matter your credit score (unless there is some serious issues like fraud).

Bank staff do not ever want to give you one of these. They get no commission out of it. They will want to give you a standard account which can be upgraded to a fee paying account and give leads to loans and savings and credit cards etc etc.

Best bet is to apply online then just take in the id and signed paperwork they post to you to the bank and get a cashier to copy and certify. Tell them you have bad credit so they wont try and refer to a seller.

On the application, tell them your gonna pay your wages into this one and everything should be fine.

The only thing to worry about is making sure it's a bank that will accept payments to the wrong name (or rather not bother checking the name).
