Dont expect usps to be smart. Many are nice, some are nasty.

Ship from a different post office temporarly.

File a complaint with regional level post master. Push that angle Once your post master starts to get some heat from
His hierarchy for telling you wrong info, he will cool down. Call around, dont back down.
