Default Opening A New Stealth Account - What Kind Of Items ?

Hello all. I have decided to buy several new accounts from a reliable source here.
After reading many posts on different message boards here I am confused regarding how to start listing items on day 1 with a new account.

Being a seasoned eBay seller that had a great reputation I thought I could kinda pick up where I left off just before my 12 year old account got restricted.

I have a lot of inherited items to sell (and was selling) such as 1920's purses, collector music boxes, 125 year old silverware sets and so on. I am aware of the 10 item / $1,000.00 rule and I will achieve the $1,000.00 through just 3 to 5 auctions more than likely.

Is eBay going to jump on me about selling high dollar items? I mean if a new member (as far as they know) starts listing various items worth from $30.00 to $300.00 why would this raise a red flag if this new seller adheres to the newby limits ???

One more question for those in the know:

I was selling many vehicles on eBay right up until I got restricted. All were honest sales with happy buyers.

I have a beautiful 5th wheel I want to sell on eBay that I can start at .99 and will probably end at more than $10,000.00. I have heard that eBay motors listings do not have the same newby limits.

Is this true or am I not able to list the trailer for auction until a certain amount of time goes by ???

TIA for your help here.

Why was your original account suspended? The most important thing is to figure that out so that it does not happen again.

Not suspended, restricted (eBay). PayPal has limited my account with them.

Nothing I listed and nothing I sold brought about this action against me.

My son and I live next door to each other and share an IP via wi-fi. My son's eBay account got hijacked and his PayPal account supposedly has over $94,000 in debt. from chargebacks.

When this happened our accounts got linked and now let the games begin. It started on 6/18/2013 and it's clear to see that it's going nowhere and neither eBay or PayPal are going to let me get back to business.

This is the short story version as I realize this is not the message board for this conversation.

I know I have to start over with a clean computer and a stand alone IP that no one else will access.

Getting back to my original post.

I read the sticky above regarding items that may bring on a MC999 before I posted my questions but was still left a little curious about listing antiques which are usually high dollar items. If I were to hit my $1,000.00 limit for the month with just 2 or 3 auctions would that be a red flag for eBay?

Just lets think of it this way:

Scenario: I have never used eBay. I am not aware of anyone being kicked off eBay for any reason. I decide I'd like to join and sell a bunch of stuff that I think will bring me some good money. I sign up with eBay and I open a PayPal account and now I'm waiting for my PayPal account to be confirmed with my bank account so I can receive payments. I never bought anything off eBay because up until now I was not a member.

Several days go by and my PayPal account can now receive payments. I list just 3 items that I think may bring me close to that $1,000 limit. One 1878 Aladdin Lamp in excellent condition, one 1920 beaded purse from France in unused condition and then a complete 10 person setting silverware set from the 1800's. I list all 3 starting at .99 for 7 days with no reserve. At the end of 7 days they all sold adding up to $850.00 total plus shipping. Now I go dormant until the next month comes along.

Given this scenario have I done something that eBay would consider a red flag?

I have a 5th wheel I want to sell on eBay that will probably end at more than $10,000.00. I have heard that eBay motors listings do not have the same newby limits.

Is this true or am I not able to list the trailer for auction until a certain amount of time goes by and dollar limits are increased???

Sorry but you can't just pick up where you left off, When you purchase an account here...it's brand spanking new, it has no feedback, no sales. You can't just jump in and want to sell expensive items.

Also, depending on the limits on the account, if you list a $10,000 item on a new account that has a $1,000 limit...well you can kiss the account goodbye.

You have to sell like your a new seller...not a veteran seller.

That is only part of what you need to do. Your method is still flawed, b/c you need to have everything new (new name/address/passwords/etc). Re-read the stealth guide and there will be mention of how to implement this.

As others have posted, your 12 year account is gone and you must start over as a brand new seller. I know it sucks, but if you are patient, you will be just as strong in no time given your track history w/ your previous account.

Get multiple stealths so you don't have to be crippled when one goes down.

Not going to happen on a new account. A 12 year old account had perks a new account wont have.

I also would like to know what you did to get the 12 year old account suspended, maybe it was minor and you can get the account back?

I have a lot of inherited items to sell (and was selling) such as 1920's purses, collector music boxes, 125 year old silverware sets and so on. I am aware of the 10 item / $1,000.00 rule and I will achieve the $1,000.00 through just 3 to 5 auctions more than likely.

Most of the items you mentioned are what I sell all of the time and you have to be careful selling expensive high end antiques and collectibles on a new account.

Is eBay going to jump on me about selling high dollar items? I mean if a new member (as far as they know) starts listing various items worth from $30.00 to $300.00 why would this raise a red flag if this new seller adheres to the newby limits ???

Yes they will hit you if you sell a lot of high dollar items on the same account. Spread those items out over multiple accounts but also add in some lower end items at the start.

One more question for those in the know:

Not a good move. Do not start something on a new account worth 10k at 0.99.

Is this true or am I not able to list the trailer for auction until a certain amount of time goes by ???

TIA for your help here.
Since you inherited the items if it were me I would have multiple accounts up and running and selling the low end items for the first month and then run in some of the better items a few at a time.

Also you have to be aware of the dollar amounts on one single account as it seems you will hit high numbers in dollars and will draw for the 1099 quickly doing so.

Thanks Sandy D. Yes multiple accounts are coming I will spread the higher dollar items out over time and over separate accounts and keep the majority of listings to lower value items.

Just got off the phone with eBay and also checked their rules and guidelines in print for joining and selling. There is no dollar limit for eBay Motors when listing complete vehicles, trailer, motorcycle, etc... They confirmed that the 10/1000 will only apply in eBay Motors when selling parts.
