| | | Dmshark25 | 07-30-2013 06:53 PM | Tracking says delivered but customer saying they have not received A customer just contacted me saying tracking shows delivered yesterday but they have not received it.
I have delivered over 2000 packages in the last 6 months but never had this happen, I have no problem shipping a new item out as I told the buyer
Just wondering if there's anyone that this happened to and is there anything I can do or have the buyer do.?? |
| unkown5454 | 07-30-2013 07:11 PM | USPS I presume? Used to happen to me a lot with smaller items. If it is cheap, which I hope for your sake it is, offer to send them exact item again or a complete refund.
Trying to hunt down what is happening or whether or not the customer is lying is far more trouble than you want to get yourself into. Not to mention it will yield no results. |
| BigCJ | 07-30-2013 07:12 PM | It happened to me before.
Tell the buyer that you will ship out another one and that you will contact the post office to file a claim and have them look into it.
It is possible that the package was delivered to either the wrong address, a neighbor has it, or it was stolen.
Add signature conformation to this order to ensure that the buyer gets it this time around.
Id wait around 2 days before shipping out another one to see if anything pops up. |
| Dmshark25 | 07-30-2013 07:18 PM | Yes that's exactly what I said that I'd send a new item out and open up a claim with the fraud and theft department at the PO( which I have no idea if this exists just figured if there tryin to get a free item it may get them a little worried maybe enough for them to come out and message me tomorrow saying they received it.
Anyway no big deal the cost of the item wasnt worth getting insurance or delivery confirmation , but I will reship this time with signature confirmation |
| lyl797 | 07-31-2013 12:48 AM | I now always ask buyer to file a non-receiving claim at their local post office and get the claim case number so I can refund their money even if they file eBay dispute.
One time buyer file eBay dispute saying non-receiving, USPS shows delivered and eBay asked buyer to present non-receiving claim case without me even asking, then the buyer gave up and close the dispute.
Try this, I have a feeling that eBay would not easily side with buyer when USPS states delivered, and buyer claim not receiving. You might win although not 100% ...

Normally I try to get the buyer to ask their neighbors if the live in a residential home to see if they got it by mistake and if possible ask their Postal Carrier if they happen to be around when the mail is delivered.
Lastly, I tell the customers that I am will check in with USPS to see if I can find out anything more about it. Allot of the time these kind of buyers just give up. The ones trying to get free stuff. They are so use to just getting sellers to send them extra stuff without question when somebody questions them on it they don't follow up or somehow say they miraculously found it. |
| Dmshark25 | 08-01-2013 01:54 AM | Just to update, buyer messaged thanking me and to let me know they received the package today, a day after it said delivered.
I'm not sure if it was honest buyer, which is probably the case or if I scared them by saying ill ship a new one but contact the theft and fraud department at my post office if it doesn't turn up. And I just said I think they may contact u with couple questions. |
| LilyPily | 08-01-2013 02:46 AM | Take a look at the buyer's feedback it will sometimes give you an insight as to whether the buyer is likely to pull a shifty on ya. |
