Default EBay Allowed Suppliers? Is there such a thing?

It seems that no matter where you buy your items from for resale, ebay doesn't like it. I bought shirts from ralph lauren, sold them on ebay, was asked for receipts, supplied thousands in receipts from ralph lauren outlet store and POOF terminated for life.

The same for a wrinkle cream. I supplied receipts from the manufacturer and resaler license and poof terminated for life.

I heard alibaba and dgate can guarantee you a terminates too. But why? Maybe for counterfeit items, but what about non branded things like mugs, socks, kitchenware etc. If we show these two sites as our supplier, will ebay ban us? What about liquidators? Do they allow them to supply to us?

What about "not having invoices" when they ask. Has anyone tried that. Does that work? I ask because I do have TONS of items purchased at markets, shows or swap meets and I have no invoice for them.

I just want to think a little ahead if they start asking for invoices again.

What has been YOUR experience with getting through the show us who your supplier is stage?

eBay hates any invoices from a Chinese supplier - even non branded. So, I wouldn't try that path anyway.

If the manufacturer is part of eBay's VeRO program, then they have the right to pull your listing/item from eBay. It may be legitimate, but that is their right within the VeRO program.

I don't understand this, why is eBay pulling non-branded listings?

He said they don't like china period even if it's non branded. That's kind of bs.

You said you supplied eBay with receipts and a resaler license for wrinkle cream. Do you mean that you were an authorized reseller, or did you mean something like a state tax sales certificate?

I'm asking because I have never heard of anyone being banned from eBay when they were an authorized reseller by the manufacturer of a product.

Most times it is an excuse by ebay.

Account gets zapped because it was going to get zapped in any case.

If a seller is doing business, the expectation from ebay is there will be invoices
available.

Issues is ebay qualifies what they expect. That leaves out the Asian suppliers.

Yes, authorized reseller. I was eventually told my 7 year old 500 fdbk 100% account was terminated because when I sent them the invoices, they called the manufacturer and someone over said yeah we don't like to be sold on ebay. They don't care enough to have rules in place, be a part of vero, or try to stop the 200+ sales per day they have on ebay...but just the mere fact that i grew so fast, asked for increase, had to provide invoice, they called to "confirm" and some moron was like yeah we don't like ebay sales...that was the demise of my accounts.

Everyone imports from china...like everyone with a business in the us, so where are we supposed to get our items if we get banned on ebay for using a china supplier?

Not everyone Imports from China, not everything is made in China but that being said...if you sell items that are branded then your subject to VERO even if you bought your items at an outlet or store.

OK, so it wasn't really the receipts themselves that lost you the eBay wrinkle cream account, it was the fact that the manufacturer does not really want their products on eBay. Mary Kay Cosmetics and Burberry come to mind. They have been very vocal about not wanting their brands associated with discounting.

I also believe that if eBay starts asking for receipts, they have already pretty much decided they do not really want you as a seller. So they try to find an excuse to ban the account. Obviously, if eBay wanted to ban everything made in China there wouldn't be a whole lot of stuff on their website. China, for better or worse, is the manufacturing center of the universe right now. I'm sure more than half of the stuff in my house is made in China.

Having said all that, all we can really do is try to abide by their rules and stay under the radar. They can do whatever they want with their website.
