Default Spend large amounts on eBay is it a risk?

We all know it's a risk trying to take amounts or around 2k out of paypal at once/

What if I were to spend 2k on eBay paying with my paypal balance on stuff like gold and shopping vouchers, is that still a risk?

Dramatic changes to regular buying patterns and large spend amounts can potentially cause problems.

Spending tends to be loved by PP but factors worth considering are 1) what you buy - I could see vouchers and gold being questioned... and 2) the seller involved (examples)

There would be no dramatic changes. I'm aware dramatic changes do raise alarms in many ways.

Over the course of 12 month I will start spending £100-£250 a month on ebay raising bit by bit each month and eventually be spending around 1k-2k a month after 12 months.

Basically I will do everything the same as my other accounts but rather than withdrawing £200 every 2days I will spend it on eBay.

Can't see nothing wrong with it tbh. Unless anyone has done this before then feel free to chime in with your experience of it, going to test it out on 1 account first and see how it goes.

I wouldnt say its the amount your looking at as much as the products your looking at.

besides that GOLD Really wow why would you, gold always goes up when the economy is down on its luck, now were are at a good rate of recovery gold prices will go one way....Down...You would be better of trying to hunt out real second hand or new bargins that you can hopfully make a little cash from by listing on fb, gt and swaps so its a win win

i do quite a bit of buying from ebay and 2k's not alot trust me, i fluctuate like a real buyer, i buy things from a few quide to about 500-600 notes anymore than that and i want cash on delivery instead of the hassle assosiated with with been ripped off, having said that i dont jump in at the deep end and spend 500-600 notes straight off the bat

I can easily spend over 1 K GBP on Ebay but it tends to be a few hundred dollars at a time spread among various sellers - some of whom I may have dealt with before and some not. After 12 years I guess Paypal are used to my spending patterns.

I think it depends upon the age of the account and your relationship with Paypal.

I try to avoid buyers opening disputes by refunding them for delayed merch as the 45 day limit approaches so they dont have to open one. Many items going to the USA and posted in December were badly delayed by weather, mail volume, etc. I had to refund 3 buyers. They all subsequently contacted me and asked to be re-invoiced when the packages arrived.

I use my funds this way.

Your main issue is not you, but your (possible) toe rag seller.

Ensure you check their feedback thoroughly.

If you get a bad feeling, then you know what to do.

Gold is flaky at the moment. Be aware if it looks too good to be true, it likely is.

Some sellers with vouchers may be on their last legs. Pay attention to ANY seller whose feedback is 98.4...... usually they can be tottering on suspension. Avoid involving your funds there.

Proceed carefully and enjoy your own money.

Nice slow rise in activity - looks like a good approach but pay attention to what Greenie mentioned, especially the seller status part.
