Postage of Digital Items
 

Hey guys, I plan to email digital items to my customers such as one time URL's and software serials.

In the past I have listed as a regular postage service as Collection Only scares many buyers off. Some customers have then used this as an excuse for a refund as there is no proof of postage even though my listings stated the nature of my digital products.

Also, I have to list my items as New otherwise people again get scared off. In this case eBay list the item as arriving shrink wrapped, etc.

What do you guys think is the best solution for issues like these?

This has been discussed....Unless you physically ship the codes your going to have problems with the buyers and Ebay.

Buyers are going to file claims of no delivery and ebay/paypal are going to refund them because you never provided a tracking for the customer.

So, if you plan to sell digital items on a new account it's going to get banned super quick.

Solution: Find a physical item to sell until your account(s) get some feedback and get aged.

I use to sell Xbox Live codes on eBay and send the codes over email.

Ran into a lot of fraud with PayPal so I just shipped a empty envelope with tracking number and PayPal let me keep my money.

Smart physical approach :) ...with tracking too - didnt eat too much into profit margins? Just wondering

Thanks for the helpful responses. They are greatly appreciated. As for the "it's already been covered response", I did search thoroughly. We do not all think the same way so might search for different terms and get different results. Patience is a virtue.
