This item is not counterfeit. I just listed it yesterday and sold it, but haven't even shipped it yet. Does this mean my account is toast?

Doesn't matter whether it is counterfeit or not. People seem to wrongly assume that VeRo automatically means counterfeit.

Hard to say whether your account is toast. It is certainly "marked" and at risk.

As ebayorbust said, it doesn't automatically mean it is counterfeit, you just might not have permissions to sell it. Have you made contact with the rights owners to check you are allowed to sell the item?

If not, then it doesn't surprise me its been taken down.

It's probably a big brand name that is highly counterfeited and if u do not have an aged account that is a Top Rated Power seller than forget about selling those items

Your account is definitely being watched if u relist that or any other branded item than it will be Toast

Did your buyer pay already?. Wait to ship because they will also get an email saying ur listing was removed and even if u shipped it , it's very hard to explain that the item was shipped and on the way when eBay emailed them the opposite, and u are not protectected they can get the item and any case they file they will win just because u were not allowed to sell

Best thing cancel transaction

The weird thing is that the sale doesn't even show up anymore. It's like they deleted the sale.

They do delete the sales.

Claim can still be made though PayPal.

Does the email to the buyer say why the listing was removed?

The problem with this happening is that the buyer gets sent an email informing them the listing got pulled and warning them not to go ahead with the purchase. Can't remember the exact wording of it.

This is likely to trigger an influx of claims of INR and INAD on Paypal.

Yea I'm pretty sure, if u didn't send it out definitely cancel or u will be out ur product and money

It's the hardest thing to explain to a buyer that u shipped it out after they receive an official eBay email stating the opposite, even if they have the tracking

And no matter if u have signature confirmation, tracking even a video of the postal carrier bringing the package to the door u will lose, there is no case buyer gets funds back

Yep it doesn't exist that's why u can not fight it, and it disappears on the buyers side also

So does that mean that they can not leave negative feedback?

The buyer gets an email explaining that the item sold was VeRO, if they already paid for the item, they should open a case. If they have not paid for the item, they should not pay.

The sold item can still be accessible via "Accounts". If the buyer already paid, and the item is removed, they can only open a case via PayPal. You will have to call eBay to adjust fees because you cannot open a "Resolve a Problem" case.

@ Kelley. I get these from time to time on various accounts. You seemed to have gotten a warning. It would have told you that you are restricted from selling for 7 days, 30 days, or indefinitely. If you was not given a time of restriction, then your account is still good, but it is being watched and will be watched for some time. I usually wait 2-4 weeks before re-listing that item again.

Now, about the item your customer bought. I also have this situation a lot. Sometimes the buyer doesn't message or bother you, sometimes they will. Out of a listing that I sold about 100 pcs from, I would get 2-3 customers email or message me if eBay had removed the listing. eBay will NOT tell the customer exactly why it was taken down, just that it was removed. I still ship their item out ASAP, and when they inquire about it I give them the tracking number. I also give them a BS line like "I don't know what eBay is doing, I am confused and frustrated about this myself. I am sorry that this caused an alarm, but your item has been shipped out. Here is the tracking number: 999666333 via USPS. If you have any other issues, please feel free to message me back. I am always happy to respond."

I have done this numerous times. The customer is always grateful that the item is still coming. And what is even better is sometimes I get an apology from them saying that the item is great and that they are sorry that they was unable to leave feedback.

They can't leave any feedback, just as it's deleted on ur end it is deleted on there end, that's why it's hard to explain to them that u have it on the way because besides receiving an email from eBay they see the listing is deleted, did they pay already?

If they didn't pay than they won't be able to unless u invoice them and explain what happened or make up a story if they paid just be-careful, if it's high priced , make sure u tell them it is on the way and if they are ok than ship out

I should add that my item is not high priced (less than $40) so if I have to eat 1 or 2 out of 80 to 100, then I am ok with it. I agree with DM, if it is high priced, I would be careful as well.

I recently had a buyer leave me negative feedback for an item that was removed by ebay. So feedback can still be left.

you did that because you got the mc999

or you got mc999 because you did the unlink thing?

the couple of times I got mc999, the buyer never contacted me, so I sent it and heard nothing more.

actually if they want the item they will probably ignore the notice from ebay. You can talk your way out of it sometimes if they contact you, eg. say you got reported by another ebayer, their choice to cancel or take item, up to them, often they will think that is reasonable.

if they start a case without contact, just refund them

That's weird because when they had removed any of my listings, they remove everything except for the shipping label if you had already printed it off.

Perhaps the neg fb was left before the listing was removed by eBay? I do not think it would make a difference, but I am still learning myself.
