Letter from PayPal demanding payment For the past 2 weeks, I didn't have access to the e-mail I use for this eBay & PayPal account. It's a legitimate account which I rarely sell on anymore so I don't manually log in very often. Last time I logged into the eBay was 3 weeks ago and 5 weeks ago for the PayPal.
So today I get a letter in the mail from a credit bureau demanding a payment that is "seriously overdue". My reaction was "WTF?". So I log into this PayPal account and my balance is negative -$28. I'm checking my transactions to see what caused this and it's from eBay fees. I have an auto-payment set up for fees on this account (I know, I think most of you prefer doing it manually from what I remember reading) so they tried to take money from 2 different bank accounts but both failed. This initially happened on March 17. And now just 9 days later I get a letter in the mail from a credit bureau which really shocked me how it escalated so quickly.
The letter, from NCO Financial Services, asks me to send it back alongside the $28 I owe. Could I just transfer money (from different bank account) to the PayPal instead of dealing with this company? Would PayPal then inform the bureau it's been solved and I paid? |
