| | | GhostWhoWalks | 03-29-2014 01:59 PM | Do we have to answer all emails? Got a customer with a product from like 5 months ago. Sending me bibles of emails. I sold them a product that clearly states that for them to have best results with our product to use for a long period of time. Then they don't even buy enough of it. Most people buy it monthly from me, without any problems at all. I even get repeat business from it. A working out product (protein powder). I'm not responsible for people's results or efforts with it. Or I'm I? I wonder if they would go to the stores and do the same thing after 5 months.
It's not one of my top selling items but it's one of them.
Been selling it for 5 years since I started on ebay. Out of the 1000's of customers I had this one is probably one of the biggest problems ever, I am having.
Do I still have to reply to them with their nasty emails? Or is ebay going to knock me down the list because I didn't reply to all customer emails? |
| BigCJ | 03-29-2014 02:26 PM | Re: Do we have to answer all emails? Its best to keep things professional even with nasty buyers.
As 'their' seller, you are responsible for their inquiries.
It can result in negative feedback and low dsrs which can get you canned. |
| Dmshark25 | 03-29-2014 02:46 PM | Re: Do we have to answer all emails? If the item they purchased wasn't expensive sometimes it's just better to refund them and move on, unfortunately something like an upset buyer whether it's real or not can get your account shut down |
| Sooner | 03-29-2014 10:30 PM | Re: Do we have to answer all emails? Did you sell the product to this buyer 5 months ago and no other purchases from this buyer since the initial purchase? If so, this buyer can no longer leave feedback for this transaction. Also, IMHO, you shouldn't have to refund 5 months after the transaction but like Dmshark25 wrote, sometimes it's better to refund than have to deal with this buyer. You could put this buyer on your blocked list so he can't purchase from you in the future but you might still receive emails from him since you did have a transaction with this buyer. |

Those kind of buyers are killing me sometimes. Sometimes you get someone who bought a TV a year ago now they are messaging you that the TV is not working. I usually tell those people that they are stupid for emailing me. Just in a nicer way.
With something like, please remember that you still have an option of contacting the manufacturer with this issue. I believe that most of the major manufacturers have warranties in place for their products and have been offering this service for long time and as far as I know it is still a common practice in the market place. Please contact the maker of your TV and perhaps they might be able to help you.
You will be surprised but a lot of those nut cases just go away after something like that. |

:spy: | Now they want free 6 month supply. I just reply with "ok" lol.
I don't want to tell them off then they call ebay and say I was rude. :yar: |

But yeah they still sending me messages. Giving me excuses that they got their bank info robbed and want to call up their bank etc lol.
Like really? lol They want to call the BBB and other stuff. I'm just thinking Really? And ignoring it now cause daily it's a new excuse. lol. |

| GhostWhoWalks | 03-31-2014 03:30 AM | Re: Do we have to answer all emails? I see some people selling weight loss or diet pills in the field. And I read their feedback and customers writing things like. "They don't work it's a scam" it's like no one really does a proper diet, and yet get mad at you.
Some customers are just as you all said, "stupid".
I once seen a seller selling tires only and they wrote a negative saying once the tires were put on it popped a tired due to driving on a nail. Like really? |
| just_smile | 03-31-2014 03:44 AM | Re: Do we have to answer all emails? So they've used all the protein, not seen any results and now want a refund/replacement.
Do you know you have to train and diet too. some people genuinly think you take a protein drink once a day and become like arnie.
They are ignorant and best to simply ignore and block. |

Block them.
Time wasters.
Communicating even with OK is catering to their silliness.
PS..... spin them out for the 6 months to stop a chargeback ;) |

When I read the other comments by people who sell those or any kind of supplements it's like really. |

Re: Do we have to answer all emails? It means that answering questions on many accounts (if you have them) will take up too much time on the day - worse still if your item is popular |

It's my baby! :)
What really takes up my time is re-posting my listings every 3 day for 3 days. It takes 20 minutes for all my stealth accounts. :( 3.3 hours per month. I wish I could cut out some time on it. But you get more views if you list for 3 days. Because it shows as newly listed and also on the last day so it's good.
I'll test it out for 10 days on my 3 dozen newer accounts I'm making this month. And see how that goes. Cause I'll be blowing 10 hours per month with 4 dozen total. |

Block the bidder and report him. Maybe he has a record of being an ass and it will be your report that gets HIM shut down. but then he will probably end up here...so hold that thought. |
| GhostWhoWalks | 04-03-2014 05:26 AM | Re: Do we have to answer all emails? So comforting to know! lol
Thank you! |
| biglouis999 | 04-03-2014 06:01 AM | Re: Do we have to answer all emails? If the complaint is within the time period when something nasty might happen (eg PP case) and the item is cheap I usually refund them to get rid. Write it off as a tax loss. In the case where something is well out of time I just ignore.
For example I had a buyer purchase a vintage jewelry item with missing rhinestones - accurately described. 6 months later she wanted me to take it back because she had not been able to find rhinestones of the right type! (could not buy rhinestones in the USA? Come on now.) I did not bother to even reply because thats taking the mick.
Why not make up something that looks like an "out of office reply" message and keep booting that back to them?
Sometimes annoying buyers get hold of my personal email address and keep mailing me on that. Simple. All my private email addresses are via my own domains where I have set up a postmaster@mydomain.com for each one. I simply boot the message back from the postmaster as a "mail transmission error/mailbox unobtainable" return with a bit of gobbledegook from a real "unobtainable" pasted into the body. Works every time. Sender assumes their message has not got through. They give up after a couple of tries.
For really evil or annoying messages I set up a block at server level so I dont ever see the messages. Out of sight is out of mind. |
