etsy stealth account

i want to make many etsy accounts but you need a credit card for each one (even though i wont be charged for lsiting) so if one gets banned will all get banned? its not worth using multiple credit cards unless i can get them free

Re: etsy stealth account

Prepaid cards work fine, just like with st/ealth. Please look at the other recent topic I have posted on.

Hi Tommybc,
Let me know how it works out for you - I am going to be doing the same thing on E/Tsy.

working so far with a new credit card but if i use the same images and text as my last banned account will they find out im the same person and ban me quicker?

Re: etsy stealth account

They track images. Alter them (size, object placement) and alter title a bit. You should be ok.

Re: etsy stealth account

i did all of the above and my account got banned after 20 minutes but i have a static ip and only had access to an ip from another area

Re: etsy stealth account

If you are selling in a category with other competitors, they can easily report you. All I can tell you is what works for me, but their community is also aggressive. If you have even one little thing that does not fit into Et/sy's TOS, then anyone can report you and have you removed.

If you are being banned in 20 minutes or less, then a bot is finding you. Something you are doing is still creating a link.

Whatever OS you are using, be sure to create a new user. I mean, you really need to be following every single step of ste/alth.

Regardless of the selling platform, you MUST present yourself as a new YOU.

This does mean resize, changing etc your photos. Strip out data etc.

Do as much as you can to avoid being linked.

Apply ebay stealth procedures to etsy.

Good Luck

Exactly. Thank you GB.

tommybyc, you really need to pick up the stea/lth guide to learn how everything works before you start messing around with the big ecommerce sites.

Not meaning to be rude but if you cannot spent 4.95 on starting a business then you need to do something else.

4.95 is dirt cheap to get one of these started.

If done correctly you will be fine and make it back on day one and then some.

Learn about dongle or cellphone tethering use to gain dynamic IPs then.

Re: etsy stealth account

I would like to add that while applying the stealth methods discussed in this forum does work well, there are many other reasons why Etsy may shut you down. They are far more stringent about the kinds of things that you can sell than Ebay or Amazon. Here are a few of the many reasons your shop may be shut down by Etsy:

1. Etsy claim your items are not handmade. Even sellers who send Etsy full details of how their items are made, showing their components and workplaces have been shut down. Always make sure you have loads of evidence that your items are hand made to give yourself the best chance. Hope that it's enough !

2. A competitor targets you and says you are stealing their design. If this competitor is a company more established than yours, Etsy will not investigate whether you have a legitimate case or not, they will just shut you down. (so much for the friendly, 'we love the little guys' image they try to promote).

3.If you access your shop from a PC of another users shop which has been closed down, you will be closed down... so beware of helping out friends who have had any trouble with Etsy at all.

4. Speaking negatively about Etsy on the community forums wont just get your thread closed as quickly as you can say 'Regretsy', it often results in your shop being shut down also.

5. Be very careful of the tags you use on your items. If you use a brand name or describe a style of item as such, or even use a tag similar to any brand name (check the style is not also some obscure brand name) ... you may be shut down.

Etsy will not give you a second chance. Their appeals process is nonsense. Etsy have grown so large that they use highly mechanized rules to decide your shop's fate, and human reason does not come into it. I see more and more people asking about Etsy stealth, and to be honest, they deserve it.

Re: etsy stealth account

I can second all that has been said in the above post.

I would add another warning:-

If you sell vintage be sure you are selling stuff which is genuinely over 20 years old. In theory if someone snitches that the item is "new" they are supposed to provide evidence in the form of a link to where these "new" items are being sold. In fact if one of the established snitches flags your shop YOU will be asked to "prove" that the item is vintage by citing a "reference source". Bearing in mind how many individual antiques actually appear in reference books this is near impossible unless you sell really high end or unusual stuff.

Etsy if full of cliques and snitching is a way of life for some of these pathetic spineless creatures. Think of Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany and you will not go far wrong.

Be very very careful what you say in the forums. I got banned for an innocuous remark which I would not have hesitated to use to my grandmother. When I appealed to a senior staff member I got the same cut and paste reply and it was obvious that they had not even read my message properly or considered my arguments.

You are better off staying out of the forums all together - they are a snake pit full of cheerleaders and cupcakes who would gladly sacrifice their first born child to the company line.

And this is no different than EB, PP, AZ, etc.

Stea/lth on Et/sy works great for me. But, if you don't understand stea/lth, then you will get slammed. Everything you mentioned applies to all the big guys already.

The only difference with them is the strong community support presence. While the others have some form of this, it's a major focal point for Et/sy and they certainly use it.

But, through all of my testing, they are not as smart as the rest still. I can fire up an account with a VCC or prepaid card in 5 minutes and be selling. No limits, no restraints, etc.

Great information!! will being it to open another account on Etsy.

Re: etsy stealth account

Same photos will get you instantly banned. Similar item titles, descriptions and tags will too as previously mentioned. Also, I've had a couple of accounts go down for posting links to etsy listings on the same Facebook company page as an old account.

You could tell us what steps you took to make the stealth account.

Re: etsy stealth account

Definitely need to list all the steps.

And you can't reuse a bank account once you pop it into PP
