can also confirm my1voice does not work for canadians | Just wondering if you tried multiple times or some other extra steps when trying my1voice.
I've used my1voice verified a couple of accounts in the past 2 weeks without big problem in USA. But one thing I do experience is that sometimes I have to try multiple times(Click "try again", or log out of ebay then back in) to get a phone call through. It seems like my1voice is not working perfectly with eBay but still works at least in USA. |
| TigerLord | 08-16-2009 06:57 PM | I did. I changed the type of attendant to extension...
whatever phone number my1voice gives Canadians (only 866- numbers) they're reported as INVALID PHONE NUMBERS by eBay.ca |
| TigerLord | 08-19-2009 02:51 PM | As reported by vel, cellphones will not work to confirm Paypal accounts anymore (in the US). They still work in canada.
Might be worth an update! :peace: |
| philly387 | 08-19-2009 03:06 PM | Wait wait wait...time out...
You need to verify PayPal accounts now too??? |
| TigerLord | 08-19-2009 05:33 PM | I assumed he meant eBay, but he did write Paypal in his post. That or I misunderstood. |
| Vicvelcro | 08-19-2009 06:21 PM | Somewhere in one of these threads, I mentioned that cell phones can no longer be used to confirm location for Paypal. Even if you've had that phone on file with them and used it to confirm in the past.
Confirm Location != Verify |
| TigerLord | 08-19-2009 06:22 PM | My apologies for the misunderstanding! |
| Vicvelcro | 08-19-2009 06:40 PM | TigerLord,
Maybe I simply wasn't as clear as I thought I was.
Everybody,
Anyhow, when the PP limit comes, and you are asked to confirm location, and you want to choose the phone option, don't bother unless your phone on file WON'T appear as a cell phone. If it will, go to profile, change to a viable phone, confirm location.

Please add Capital One Bank requires that Paypal's name matches the Bank account. In this case it's not Paypal that is being a pain, it's Capital One. They'll lock you out in a second and it'll get your Paypal limited too.
Some user had already post it but I missed it, it got 5 accounts limited :violin:
FYI |
| Vicvelcro | 08-26-2009 03:54 PM | Dang. I was just about to give Capital One a try. Just because I love the commercials. Those barbarians crack me up. |
| TigerLord | 08-26-2009 04:02 PM | Just tried with a Paypal matching the bank, I was instantly limited (took 10 minutes). Same reason, except RXI020 this time.
I suppose Capital One are completely off limit for Canadians. |
| aspkin | 08-26-2009 05:31 PM | Oh yeah?
I don't seen Capital One listed as a good bank on the first post.. unless another mod took it down.
As a rule of thumb always use a name similar to your bank account name if you don't want any problems with your bank.
A lot of banks these days do not like money coming into your account in another name. But I found nick names are okay, for example Bobby is a nickname to Robert.
Use nicknames for your PayPal accounts and it'll save you a lot of problems. |
| doughboykilla | 08-26-2009 05:50 PM | Or you can use bussiness names which is 100% legal |
| TigerLord | 08-26-2009 05:56 PM | I used a Paypal with the exact name after and it still got limited. I believe vic is correct about CapitalOne following the footsteps of ING.
As for the first post, the fact it was not there doesn't mean we shouldn't use it. In fact the phone service I found wasn't on the list and works better than all the recommendations.
Capital One wasn't there but it had already been reported in the thread, but the first post was not updated, and I missed it in my searches. It's nothing too terrible, but it'd be helpful to keep an updated first post :peace: |
| aspkin | 08-26-2009 06:14 PM | I use ING to this day without problem. The only problem with ING is if the names are different. They don't care where the money comes from as long as it's in your name. I talked to them on the phone about this.
I don't see how Capital One would have a problem with PayPal. I'm sure hundreds of thousands of people use Capital One with PayPal without an issue, it's a popular bank.
Regardless I'm not sure of it's status now or the reason it's not listed on the first post. I haven't kept up to date with it. I'm sure many members here are using them. |
| TigerLord | 08-26-2009 06:17 PM | It's possible I jinxed myself with CapitalOne.
I suppose all CapitalOne accounts have the same routing since it is an online bank?
Could also be adding a US bank account into a CapitalOne be a higher risk, but then, why do they even give the option?
I`ll have to try new stuff. |

FYI | Don't skim then.;) Do a search B4 using a bank, a card or whatever. Read the posts about the subject. coolandcalm reported in 2008 about problems with this bank.
I think this Means to an End list needs a revamp. The info should be a read-only thread. Info about anything can be in another thread and added, amended, dated.. This what aspkin intended when he started the list. Now it's full of comments, apologizes and a bit of rubbish....imho:peace: http://www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk...k_accounts.pdf |

| digzz | 09-01-2009 11:36 AM | I've Just Setup an =Alliance & Leicester Basic Cash Account. It states on this form that it's Confirmed. Now when I got this account they gave me a Sort Code and Account number but My Account number has 11 digits....Which does not fit into the 8 digit only box on paypal. They also suplied me with a 8 digit account number which is : 00000000 . They say you need to use this with the 11 digit number. So How the Hell I'm I suppose to use this account on Paypal? Also Who Confirmed this type of account Works???????? |
| SECondplaygames | 09-03-2009 01:17 AM | I just started with wachovia and I love them. The did a charge back via ACH because paypal *tried* to over draft my bank account after account limitation. |
| bluemoon999 | 09-03-2009 07:48 AM | Are you sure? If you read the 1st page (or look at blow), some people had issues with Wachovia. Have you done any withdraw yet?
*********************
Wachovia - Had issues with mismatch names, not recommended if not using similar or same paypal name as bank accountconfirmed by Schills no good 6/5/2009
Wauchovia: multiple accounts receiving funds in different names gets everything shut down. Not recomended[*] AccountNow & Metabank being rejected by paypal (again) 8/27/2009: prepaid bank not liked. paypal limiting accounts |
| SECondplaygames | 09-03-2009 02:57 PM | Tons, They are awesome. I am thinking about switching to them for my normal banking. Maybe there protocols have changed now that they are owned by wellsfargo. I'd say its worth a shot. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:57 PM. | |
