But yeah a plan from Canada might be great. I think the mifi would be great.

I just found out about my IP address from the provider that I have dynamic. I guess you can change that. But the thing is I use gmail with thunderbird and wouldn't want thunderbird to go off each time a new ip logs in for those accounts and I got to go into each account 1 by 1 to click "okay it was me at that location" and each time I'd have a different ip address (4 dozen accounts) would take up a lot of time. I believe this mifi would be the best as MM and you are saying.

Mifi is definitely great. Regardless, you have to keep the log of IPs to make sure mistakes do not happen.

I gree with MM78, grab a Kingston flash drive from Futureshop.

Re: List of do's and don'ts

Is Mifi any different from creating a portable hotspot on your cell phone? The reason I ask is that I get unlimited data on my phone but the mifi from the same carrier has 1gb limits. Surely they'd use the same IP pool since they're on the same network or is that an incorrect assumption?

Alright why is it important to keep a log of the IP's? I mean if I have a pool of IP's with it.... why would it matter?

Arn't 1000's of others using the same service daily who log onto EB/PP?

What if I can't get the same IP back? Is there a way to keep getting the same IP for the same accounts?

Getting the same IP doesn't matter, any IP is fine, but what you don't want is the same IP on more than 1 account.

Yikes should I get this will need to disconnect and reconnect then. That is going to be a pain to check so many IP's all the time. I guess excel copy and paste with Ctrl + F then paste connecting IP will do the trick eh?

Because you could get an IP that was used with another account previously OR you could mistakenly log into an IP meant for account B when you should have logged into account A.

Yes. I have mentioned this in other posts. If you keep a record of the MAC address of your router and only use it with Account A, then every time you switch back to Account A using that same MAC, your modem will recognize the router's MAC and assign the same IP if the lease time has not expired.

I have successfully had the same IP with the same account for the last 3+ months. I've lost it once in awhile (by not logging back into it within 24 hours or so), but the new IP I get usually lasts another month or so.

Re: List of do's and don'ts

The reason a lot of us do not suggest using VPN's is mostly because it is CRITICAL to choose the right provider. You don't want to choose a service that has been overused, or where the IP ranges are known to eBay/PayPal/Amazon. And that means using a smaller, and likely more expensive provider. Too many users here want everything for free. How many times have we been asked "is it OK to use TOR?"

The best IP's are static, not shared. The best providers are smaller providers not likely to be on eBay's radar (hint: those are the ones that cost more than $1 per month).

I have also used 123's VPN for awhile, although it has been resting as of late, and I had no issues. His system is actually quite good when buying a user account. It makes the transfer smoother and gives a newbie one less problem to worry about.

From what I have seen, most accounts do not get shut down because of IP issues. It DOES happen and the IP issue is IMPORTANT, but a lot of accounts get shut down for other things such as:
  • Selling counterfeits or high-risk items
  • Selling shoddy merchandise
  • Drop-Shipping
  • Arguing with customers
  • Refusing refunds
  • Giving poor customer service
  • Being unprofessional (acting like you are a high-school student)
  • Slow shipping
  • Cutting corners on Stealth methods

Of course, this is not an exhaustive list.

I can usually predict who will be successful with stealth based on their attitudes. Those who are willing to learn and properly implement stealth methods AND be professional in their business dealings usually do well. Those who do not want to be inconvenienced by things like changing IP's or opening a few bank accounts, or who take each transaction personally and refuse refunds usually end up failing.

I have purchased VPN through 123 and so far they are solid!

Brilliant. I use portable browsers *from a post you had on another thread* but I still run separate user accounts. I could just simply put the browsers into different folders! Brilliant.

HAA LE LU YAH HAAA LE LU YAHH HALELLUJAH!

MM78, you deserve a fricken star. I'd marry your daughter out of respect

I'm going to MiFi route in addition to the methods I already implement. I might, however, cancel my Virgin Mobile 3G contract. I thought I was being super slick/stealth by tethering an ultd 3G iPhone 4 for $35, but no one can beat a wireless MiFi for 1/4 the price. Jesus (hallelujah).

I did use the Sprint OverDrive Pro for a little while, but that plan was $39 back in 2012. I suppose the price dropped, IDK, but it looks like the 2 year agreement is close to $9 now.

Got that far. Looks like Sprint's 2 yr agreement is $8.59 and Verizon's plan is $20.

$20? I'm not sure were on the same page....When you buy a Flashed Verizon Mifi2200....you get 2 months free of service and after that it's $10/Month......not sure where the $20 plan is coming from?

So, can the same false caveat that has been circulating about VPN's be applied to proxies too?

I was looking into just getting virgin, private proxies. Unused, private... is there something else wrong with using a proxy that I am unaware of?

As long as it has not been used and abused, is there any other concerns?
