Paypal does not recognize my computer
 

I tried to transfer money from paypal to bank and paypal says they don't recognize my computer and need to callme(automated call) and ask some info
about my account.All iv done is go from windows 7 to windows 8.1.
Didn't have any problem with ebay.Do I change the phone number on paypal to one I use( have a no name gov phone I can use.?Please help.Thanks.

I've been getting this often. Not with Chrome, but with IE and Firefox.

Its one of those free minutes Samsung phone.Someone at food stamp office was handing them out and my friend got one and all she had to do was use .Minutes are added every month.She gave it to me for a backup.

That line paypal has been giving about not recognizing your device is either a glitch they been having with there system or its just total BS SO THEY can see if u have access to the phone number used when creating the account

I'm assuming the number used when u created the account u no longer have access to or you already tried it and it's says cannot verify ??

Be careful about using something given out to Welfare recipents for your business?
Far as I recall about the program, it is only for SNAP recipents.



I think if you had transferred your cookies paypal would not have given you grief.

Thanks all , they let me pay ebay fees and just bought something on ebay and that went through.The phone number came with the stealth account.Never changed it.

You can, but they you will get the message "this phone does not appear to be registered in your name".

You're best bet is to transfer money to another account, that usually works for me.

You know I just had this happen to me today. I went to transfer funds to my bank account and it said that it didnt recognize my device and asked to verify me. Asked to go to get text or phone call I chose to get phone call then it said that it couldnt do it because the number was not registered in my name?? Tried text, said same thing. The number is registered in my name (stealth name and is thru pinger)
I just dont understand. It was to withdraw funds to my bank account, an account that has been on there for like 5 months.
Its a paypal account that is 80% verified and has all limits lifted, cc verfied and bank account verified.

Same thing with my paypal account.Very strange.Well im going to try and change number and then later do the call thing.At worst,i have to get another ebay/paypal account.

No i meant change the paypal phone number and if they try the cant recognize device again, they can call me.Ill be adding a real phone number with phone.Theres something strange here with this unknown device because people have had same problem and not changed anything on there computer.

OP, check your browser settings - is it deleting cookies EVERY time you exit?

Just got the notification about not recognizing my computer too when trying to withdraw. Something must be up for so many to be seeing this now. I had to add a new number simply because I changed my phone since I was first verified but I got the automated phone call no problem and typed in the PIN and was all set to withdraw. Hope that's the end of it.

Well, I just got this message too. I selected the call feature and it says the usual "this number appears not to be registered to you". Now it's asking for SS# only.

Same here in the UK earlier this evening, I opted for answer security questions and then everything was fine and was able to withdraw from Paypal straight away

WOW!!! This is really a wide spread issue. Actually, I'm glad I'm not the only one who got the verification message. PP must be checking up on users who withdraw a lot of $$$. I have two land lines, each linked to one of my accounts. My "primary" account is 10+ years old with my SS attached and my mobile phone and home phone number attached. My Stealth account has an EIN and another land line attached with a different address (second home I own). It is this second account that I withdraw from. Two different bank accounts too. I got the verification message on the stealth account today when I went to withdraw money.

This is ridiculous. I have tried 4 different phone numbers. Three prepaid's and one Google Voice and I keep getting the error "we could not verify you own this phone number".

You need to get a land line or mobile phone that is in your name. Pretty cheap to do. I think my cable company phone is only like $12/month.

I got it logged out. Disconnected and tried again let me withdrawal with no problems.

I just sent money to a fried and it went through and she sent it to her bank and it went.Should have my money tueday since Monday is holiday.I think they found a way to target stealth accounts.Strange that so many people are getting this.Hope im wrong.

Just for curiosity I went to paypal and tried to withdraw to bank and viola!
it went through!!Don't know if error is fixed or because I sent money to fried or what.Hope it lasts.

My bet is that there is/was an bug that got introduced in PP software that does the checking for know PC MAC and IP addresses. That's why people were getting the message even though they hadn't changed anything.

Just an update on my end of this issue I transferred the funds out of paypal to my Barclays account and a message came up on paypal at the last minute saying it could take up to 72 hours to land in the bank, rang Barclays this morning and they have the faster payments system so should be with them by now, but it isn't, so it's held up in some way by Paypal!

Im about to do my stealth work for the day, I missed yesterday lol

I think this is caused by dynamic IP addresses. My ISP does this (rather than assigning Static) it never used to be a problem but now apparently it is. Lots of ISP's use this method so my bet is there are lots of PP users in this mess.

Ok done with work for the day and didnt have any issues. I think it was just a glitch they were having for a little bit. Anyone else still having this issue??

I just experienced this as well

I sent them an email, expressing my frustration, and the next day I was able to withdraw

Did they reply to your email? I haven't had a need to withdraw since Friday. So I don't know if it is still an issue.

they replied with a generic self-help email that did not pertain to my withdraw problem

but, withdrawing worked thereafter, so they must have made the provisions
