| natbabes | 10-13-2014 10:48 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer Are many from the UK getting this? I withdrew on the 6th of October & today & wasn't asked to confirm anything. Both completed straight away & was in my bank within 2 hours. I only have one stealth account & i never delete cookies. Never encountered any problems. It's a 4 year old fully verified & confirmed Paypal with all limits lifted. |
| Tag123 | 10-13-2014 11:09 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer Yep, I just went to withdraw and it is giving me the account verification notice again. I guess I'll just do it again....
Something is broke for sure. |
| natbabes | 10-13-2014 11:10 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer When did you last withdraw & how much are you trying to withdraw? Does it not give you an option to answer security questions?
I've not been asked to verify & I withdrew today & also on the 6th. No problems for me:noidea: |
| Tag123 | 10-13-2014 11:34 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer The amount does not matter. I tested this with just trying to withdraw $1.50 and still got the message. I have never gotten asked to answer a security question, the only option is by phone. Is there a place where you can set up the security question as I don't think I ever did this. I gotta believe that this has to do with dynamic IP addresses. I use a ATT MiFi cell modem and I know it uses dynamic IP's. However, allot of ISP's use this as well. A quick way to tell is to Google "What's my IP Address" and it will show you in the search. Now restart your computer and see if it is the same one. Every time I power off and on my Mifi it gives me a different IP address. I have been using this for over a year now and it has only become an issue (if indeed this is the cause) in the past few days. |
| natbabes | 10-13-2014 11:39 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer I use ipburger.com to check my IP. IP addresses can & do change so I don't think that's the main reason. My IP address has changed numerous times but my cookies have still been in place on my laptop because i don't delete them which could be why I haven't had any problems?:noidea:
About the Paypal security questions, yes. Secret question 1 is my first school. Secret question 2 is where I was born. Sometimes they may ask you these or the last digits of your card number. I bought this account off someone on here a few years ago. |
| Breakthecycle2 | 10-13-2014 11:49 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer I think I may have figured it out. I believe its happening on weekends and today in the US, it's a bank holiday - Columbus Day. |
| natbabes | 10-13-2014 11:53 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer But some tried to withdraw on the 8th which is a Wednesday & 3 days ago on the Friday & none are weekend days?
Also Tag123, the minimum withdrawal amount for the US is $10.00 so $1.50 wouldn't work anyway. Another thing to point out is if you power on & off your modem, the IP address will of course change. That's what happens when you switch your modem on & off. |

However, I was turning off my modem when I wasn't using it. Then turning it back on when needed. I've been doing this for more than a year and if this is the issue for me (still not sure) the something changed on PP's end, not mine. I will leave it on and see if anything changes. |
| hothotie | 10-13-2014 06:05 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer The same just happened to me. The last time I withdrew was Oct 5. I used Google Voice and sent a Call instead of a Text. The first call failed because I routed the call to my computer. The second was routed to a phone (via Google Voice), I successfully verified it. However, account is still not showing 100%. This is bizarre. My other 80% accounts are fine. But as a precaution, I will go ahead and withdrawing money from all of them. This is ridiculous. |

added phone, then got cant recognize device phone not in your name etc etc.
finally fixed it and at 100% on pp but that was really annoying to deal with.
is anyone having issues withdrawling once you are at 100% pp verified? or is it the 80% accts mostly being affected?
I am at 100 now but have not tried withdrawl, will I need to get text code to withdrawl now that I am at 100 or ???

I am doing a test where I am leaving my cell modem on so the IP doesn't change and will test tomorrow with another withdrawal. What has me mystified is that I, and I would imagine the rest of us, have not changed a thing. This is on PP's end for sure. So far I have verified my account by phone 4 times and the only thing I can attribute to it is the changing IP address. This makes no sense as there are lots of ISP's who use dynamic IP addressing. If I wasn't so afraid of having a real person look into my account I would call them and ask what the heck is up!!! |

So it's a good idea not to move a lot of money in and out within the first 3 months .
Usually within that 3 month period if withdrawals are few and low amounts you should not have problems
Also , do not try and move money as soon as you get that email saying funds are available , very bad idea to move all the available funds or any as soon as that email comes in on a new account
Try and wait if you can at least 24 hours after the hold is lifted to move funds, this will help prevent any limitations
It seems this message is given to a lot of newer accounts lately if you try and withdrawal too fast, just go slow on new accounts and you should be fine |

| natbabes | 10-14-2014 06:48 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer Is it still asking you to verify Tag123?
It's just weird. Something must be triggering it though?
I just hope it doesn't happen to me as the number came with the account what I bought off someone in 2011 so I don't have access to it & they're no longer a part of this forum. I've never once been asked to verify the number though so fingers crossed. Hopefully if I do get the message when withdrawing, I can opt to answer security questions like another UK member on this thread. It looks like there's hardly anyone from the UK getting the message though, just the US.
I withdrew £500 on the 6th of October & it showed completed straight away. I withdrew £20 yesterday after reading that people were getting the verify phone number message & that also showed completed straight away.
I only have one stealth so my ip rarely changes & all cookies are kept in place & are never deleted so that could be a factor. |

| keepongoing | 10-14-2014 08:55 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer I have an update on this again, one of my other accounts at 80% seems totally unaffected!
I find this strange that so many people have issues w pp and then many none at all. seems really odd and I think something is glitchy on their side. |
| natbabes | 10-14-2014 09:00 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer My PayPal account from 2011 is only on 60% & I haven't had any problems. It's fully verified, confirmed & all limits lifted.
I think it could be a glitch or certain behaviours are triggering it. For example, ip address changing, no cookies in place. Just a guess! |

I only have one stealth so my ip rarely changes & all cookies are kept in place & are never deleted so that could be a factor. | We don't get asked to phone in here in the UK like they do in USA it seems, I've never had a phone us message about anything on eb/paypal, more the usual upload documents when it's time for that, having accessible phone numbers on our accounts is not therefore an issue for us as with stealth we are never likely to want to phone in voluntarily with issues, like you I only have 1 ip and access on my iphone and never do anything else with it so am able to put it in airplane mode as soon as finished doing eb/paypal and change cookie settings from allow for this site only to block all cookies and I am done |
| Tag123 | 10-14-2014 12:26 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer I do believe that it is an IP address thing. I am saving cookies and using Chrome (although I could try the next withdraw with IE). What I know for sure is that my IP is different every time (well most of the time) I go to withdraw. As mentioned, it is because of my ATT MiFi modem. Even when left on, if there is a period of inactivity (like overnight), it will grab a new IP when put in use again. This never was an issue before last week. I have no issue verifying by phone each time is asks me to but I gotta believe that if I have to verify every time that will raise a flag too. |
| andy806 | 10-14-2014 12:43 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer Does anyone know if attaching a prepaid cellphone works at this time after the security check showed up when doing withdrawal?
Same issue, changed IP once about couple weeks ago, same cookie and everything for months. |
| pr0wake | 10-14-2014 01:11 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer I'm thinking this will be temporary. When their phones begin flooding they will put a stop to it
are you guys using/keeping flash cookies? |
| keepongoing | 10-14-2014 02:03 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer I too am here to report back.
basically Im on the verge of ditching my 100 limit, 1 year old account. I can not withdrawl money from my pp anymore. I actually realized I have been saving cookies and using ff. I have used this same setup for a year with no issue.
I have an account almost exactly the same to this one and it is working fine with no issues withdrawling from pp.
on the account I am about to ditch the pp is at 100 percent but it will not let me get the call or text to my mobile. basically says it does not match my name yadda yadda.
anyways. if I remove the bank account on pp and ditch the account altogether can they readd the bank account somehow? I dont for see any cases being opened but I did want to ask.
this is extremely frustrating and I had to gift the money to a old non selling paypal just to get it out. I really think this is a slow way to limit high risk pp users. I withdraw a lot of money on the account they wont let withdrawl and now Im just ready to ditch it altogether.
I really dont think this is going to go away, my other account is working fine with no issues at all.
I dont want to try to get a landline as my name wont match, I have tried 3 different phones none will work. this sux |
