Verification through PayPal app on tablet

Hi

As part of the PayPal confirmation process it has a section dedicated to verifying your account (signing in) via a tablet or mobile device on the paypal APP.

My question is, if you have downloaded the paypal app to your device previously, and logged in to another account, is it possible to delete the app, reinstall it and log in to confirm a stealth account if I use a different IP address from my phone/iPad

You will get linked.

Do not use the APP.

It has nothing to do with verification.

Factory resetting a phone will not make it safe for APP use.

That is wrong advice though.

The factory reset does NOT work and still puts the user at risk for stealth.

FFS, dont go starting another myth of confusion.

MM78 posted about the method. He was IMPLICIT with the advice that resets DO NOT WORK.

So the signing in to an app has nothing to do with verification purposes? I thought this was the case until I started my latest stealth which has the use of an app as part of the sign in as part of their verification break down

Verification is done though a bank account.

No need to get PayPal to 100%, that is just a profile set up %.

Just to clarify - I did not mean that the OP can use the app...do NOT use the app even if you reset the phone.

The apps read hard-wired device data that does not change when you do a reset. Reset just wipes the user data and restores the software to its original config. It doesn't change hardware ID's. You can reset the tablet or phone a hundred times and ebay/pp will still know it's you.

Thanks ovidiu - wasnt clear to me if so. I though eb/pp don't track the hardware ID as yet...

I was under the same impression...

Re: Verification through PayPal app on tablet

It is true, a Factory Reset will not do the trick if the user is using the "Ebay/PP" Apps. The Apps record/track the phones unique ID so even if the user does a factory reset and wipes the device clean.....Ebay/PP have already saved/logged that device with the previous User ID used.

Here is the thread that explains this. Please read post 10 by MM78. It confirms the above statement. ( 'cos he wrote it :thumb:)
rsot thanked him too but appears to have not retained that info ( oops)
