Default iphone ebay app...

i know that this has been asked alot and i just do't understand how they can track it..

i had account that was suspended last year and i got a friend to let me use his account.. we opened a checking account with a bank that was said was the best to use on here.. and since then we have alot of feedback and do over 10k in sales a month, the only thing is that i want to use the app cause its easy to use for respondeing to offers and to questions.. what concerns me is that no one has ever answered the question on this.. what can they track..

this is what i have have done on caution

new phone never used the app
new itunes account..

the only thing that is the same is my phone number and can they get that and what else can they track..

thanks

Default tracking

Yes they can track you through the same phone number !
If the telephone is set up in your paypal on the same account then yes they can ! they track through the GPS apparently ! so worth turning off .
any phone registered to that account can be checked as they ask you when you set up if you want to use your phone for (on the go listing )in uk anyway, you can go into paypal settings and change the phone number to which ever number you want ! there is an option to delete old numbers if you have say sold/lost your phone you can change that way

Default phone number

can they track the phone number on the phone even though i dont call them on that phone..

this makes no sense of why people would say not to use the app.. it seems to be very usefull

ive got an ipod touch that i use the app for with a different itunes account, but its hard to carry to devices with me...

i figured if i got a new phone and use the asme itunes accoutn i use the ipod touch for that it wouldn't be a problem.. but everyone says that its a bad idea n and i don't know why..

io know on the phone they can get the device. but someone jsut said that the number can be traced also off the phone, when on another post someone said that it can't...

this is something that i think needs to be cleared up cause no one has a straight answer expcet not to use the app..

but i think some of us would like to use the app..

again what can they track from the app...
every other post said the device id

If u download the app it's like having a flash beacon in urbrowser tracking ur every move / ur personal info or anything u do on your phone. Do not trust ebay they promote this app heavily because they do everything to be able to track u and find out your true identity. They know there are many stealth accounts so they push items such as the app and the Paypal MasterCard anything to get your personal details, yes the app is great to use and makes everything easy however if ur eBay Stealth u can't use it the app goes against everything stealth because it will uncover ur identity and link you to past suspended accounts..

You sound like u made up ur mind though and will use it, u will find out the hard way

You go right ahead and do what you want.

Find out about being linked.

Find out the issues.

But, Hey!!! you did what you wanted.

Why on earth do you think we take time out to suggest to NOT use something?

You sound like a kind being deprived of a cookie. Bad for stealth approach.

These are more clear answers Ill just cont using the iPod touch where nothing personal is used on it, I did that with a different iTunes account, and nothing linked me is on that..

I'm not trying to be rude its that I've read many posts and nobody gave a clear reason why, but this time is different...

Thanks

I just hate carrying too iPods around it gets frustrated, but its for a good cause

With these apps, you may think you are saving time and such but listen to all the posts - read the posts - and you will see that the link effect is disastrous and you end up shooting yourself in the foot

Question: if you do NOT download the EB app on your iphone , can they still track your phone # and link acct? (e.g. thru your iTunes account or something else)...?

eB would only have access to eB-related programs...no affiliation with iTunes and other company services...
