I really want to get my cash out of PP before next year kicks in.

I see too many accounts being permanently limited for unknown reasons

Say I have 3k in the account how much can I draw without tripping the wire.

How long it a bit of string? Its impossible to say.

It all depends on how much you normally withdraw, how old the account is ect ect.

Most the accounts being limited are UK accounts FYI

The answer, as always, is "it depends."

If you sell $10 worth of goods every week for 6 weeks, then sell $5,000 in a week and want to withdraw that money immediately after, you're gonna have a bad time.

If your selling behavior is erratic or seasonal and you withdraw a large amount of your funds before waiting 30-45 days to ensure buyer satisfaction, you're gonna have a bad time.

In general, PP likes to keep money in it's coffer to cover their butts for any outside credit-card chargebacks or disputes. They're worried you sell $5,000 worth of stuff in one week, withdraw it the next week, and the following week they're hit with $2,500 in claims because you sent people a PICTURE of an xbox instead of sending them the actual xbox. Catch my drift?

Treat PP like a large dog you don't know. Make sure they're appeased and happy before pissing them off. It's better for everyone.

That said, if you have $3,000 in the account and I'm assuming you didn't do those sales over Turkey Day weekend, you should be good to withdraw about $1,200 now and the rest in January of next year, assuming you have ZERO previous behavior that involves chargebacks or disputes.

Personally, I build up accounts before cashing them out. I build stable stealth accounts by withdrawing small amounts and increasing them over time. Eventually you'll get to large withdraws and it will look completely normal/predictable to PayPal.

So many factors involved - no simple answer.

How long has the cash been sitting in the pp account?

I usually keep most of the money in my paypal account withdrawing small sums over a period of time and sending the rest to other stealth paypal account who then withdraw to my other bank accounts. It works for me. Just NEVER withdraw the full sum after receiving a payment from a buyer.

I would NEVER send money from one PayPal to another. There is too much of a risk of limitations on BOTH accounts.

There is also no dollar amount that anyone can give you. The longer your account has been open, the longer your sales history and the fewer your problems in the past, the more you can withdraw.

So, the answer will not be the same for everyone.

Edited to add: Wow... I just noticed, this is my 5,000th post!

You actually have a point. I'm going to stop doing that with my newly bought stealth account. Wouldn't want to risk a $250 purchase on that. Thanks for the pointer!
