Male with a female paypal/ebay? Call Disaster?!

Also, the issue has been resolved and a new account will be issued to me from the seller. He handled the matter very professionally; explaining along the way as to why the account was female. He gave me a couple of choices including a refund, and in the end made sure that I was satisfied with the results.

Upon receiving my new account I will give full credibility to his excellent customer service. Thanks to everyone for all the replies.

I assumed it was a standard to give out male accounts. Never thought a man could pull off talking to a Rep on a females account. Misunderstandings happen and the forums are the place to debate on and resolve any questions pertaining to them. The issue has been resolved and there is no further need to continue the debate.

I wasn't assuming everything should be male. I was assuming that a male looking profile (with a male name on the paypal invoice) would receive a male account. Thought just simply didn't cross my mind I could possibly receive a female account.

(P.S I don't want to sound sexist, but I would be MUCH more confident myself buying an antique WW2 revolver holster from a "John Malchio", rather then a "Jessica Wang")

LOL This is Hilarius. I have A LOT of employees working in a 98% male dominated outdoor/hunting industry. You know what, I hire mostly females because they OUTSELL by leaps and bounds when talking to men customers.

They all have stealth names like Jenny, Lola, Lizzy, etc..

Also, with stealth, who knows what the real name is on a paypal account is?
That is why it is stealth....rhetorical. You have to wrap your head around the stealth aspect.

Anyways, I am very glad you got everything sorted out.

I say no big deal your a tranny .. everybodys doing it .. its like walking into the movies no ticket stare the ticket guy rite in the eye and pass straight by with just a simple nod .. confident !! Or just got some girl in your life to call and have it on speaker phone so u can help if needed .. ..

But since it is risen, why not! I have called both ebay and paypal with a female name on the account. I am a male. The 3 times I called into paypal with this account was for a disputed transaction against me. They never questioned my voice. Same with ebay when I called in, they never questioned my voice. I do not know if they are not allowed to or why they dont ask. Maybe it is the uncomfortable situation, similar to not knowing if a female is fat or pregnant, you just dont want to ask if you are unsure.

In these situations I had my g/f call in and authorize me to talk to the ebay rep. They allow this once she verifies account into. Its all about not sounding like a creep or like your are nervous. If you think you need another rep call back. I recommend waiting an hour tho.

I have had this issue before and I just tell them I am transgender. With all libs going nuts over "hurt feelings" they are too afraid to even confront you about it.

If they do just act like they hurt your feelings and talk to supervisor. Go into the whole "racist, bigot" thing and they will fix your issue super fast.

I solved this issue back in 2014, but you can also just add your name on as trusted contact both for ebay and paypal. works everytime

They make you verify some things, like phone number/address on the account, email, last purchase/order and after that they will talk to you.

Couple things. Just like in selling things happen etc. We rarely have to talk on the phone with these so why not just borrow a female voice and walk her through it. easy peazy

If you did not request a MALE account

then really cant be upset w/ seller. I would in the future in your case because its a big deal to you.

If this is the biggest problem you face w/ any of your accounts thats not so bad. Keep your head up and sell on. Not trying to provoke you but is it really that big a deal? Easily fixed.
