Default Remotely Disconnect Dongle

Dongle is plugged into the computer.

If I was to remote desktop into the computer with the dongle plugged in, is there a CMD command to essentially do the same thing as pull the dongle out and plug it back in to get a new IP?

I tried the ipconfig /release then /renew but that doesn't give an new IP.

This is a current situation though so phone tethering won't help me at all.

Just need to find a way to remotely disable the dongle to achieve a new IP. I can't physically take the dongle out to reset it.

Why cant you take the dongle with you? since it is a mobile device?

Unless you are going outside the UK?

..because it won't achieve a UK IP address if I am abroad.

It's going to be connected to a dedicated server, I can access the dedicated server but then to reset the dongle I wouldn't be able to manually disconnect it. There must be a CMD command to do this automatically though, just wondered if anyone knew what it was.

That's not a release command for remotes though. ( 99% sure it is not).

What are you running?

Huawei 02 4G Dongle.

You're right it's only for local IP, not remote network adapters.

Been searching high and low with this... nice to think for a change.

You can get a router that supports 3G dongles..
and just like a normal router you can login into the router and force it to restart or try using wake on lan.

Did you try going to the gateway for the device 192.168.1.1 and disconnecting with the software and reconnecting? Not sure if it would give a new I.P. I'm going away soon too, so I might try and find a way.

Edit: It works;

Go to 192.168.1.1 log in with the following details

Username: admin
Password: admin

Click on System and then on the left hand side click "Device Settings" which expands and shows a few options, click "Reboot". Wait for it to reboot and the device changes I.P. (Just tested it).
