Do I need to clean these pics

I have taken some pics of items on my iPad, they haven't been anywhere near photoshop, or anywhere else like that. I have used this ipad previously on a banned account however, and I don't want to do factory reset on it because I am not the only family member using it and others have stored details on it that they loose if I do a complete reset on it.

So my query is do I still need to use exif cleaner or batch purifier on these new pics that are now stored on this iPad? Do have a seperate camera that I could re photograph the items with ready for starting to list them on new ebay account. Obviously don't want to get linked to old banned ebay/PayPal account so taking the view better to be safe than sorry.

Always use EXIF cleaner / Batch purifier regardless. Better safe than sorry

I would do it because t takes 2 seconds. Why risk it?

Yes I did suspect that Callidus and SilentHill, I guess we can never be sure what may be lurking on the devices we use that can potentially add some nasties to our pics just as we are about to innocentlly add them to our accounts.

Wish it would only take me a couple of secs to do as well, I have never used either exif cleaner or batch purifier before so it is going to take some time to get adept at using them!

Well, as long as they are new pictures and you use exit cleaner you should be perfectly fine no need to restore your iPad.

Yes that is the ideal scenario sin531, finding the easiest way to clean up the pics.

I also have a Mac computer and a PC so it's a little bit different on the Mac platform.

Yes that is what I was thinking, I am going to be listing on my recently wiped and reinstalled laptop, but it is just so convenient to take pics on this iPad. I have been prompted to look into this closer today because I was trying to list some things on Amazon, but that was proving a little difficult due to their stance on limited categories. Should be much easier to list them on ebay once I get to grips with a simple data purifier for the pics. The limited category in question was only cosmetics as well so not anything risky.

There's nothing to learn...

You drag your pictures into Batch Purifier, select all the tickboxes, click clean and overwrite original files.

Hehe Callidus, that very description you have given there makes it sound more complicated than ever to me!!

If using windows PC then use jpgstripper its easiest.
Copy your pictures from your ipad to your computer. Open up jpgstripper, and drag the files onto jpgsripper. That's it!

JPEG & PNG Stripper - www.SteelBytes.com

You might have hit the nail on the head there aniseed, that sounds like an ideal plan for sorting out cleaning up my pics on the very device I will be listing them on.

It is incredibly easy on all devices. I upload the entire folder, click "all" and then click overwrite original.

Takes maybe 10-15 seconds tops.

Incredibly easy is relative yankee, to having a certain amount of prior knowledge, which I increasingly find I simply do not have!

If I manage it with the MAC system, you can do it too.

So how come it didn't look that easy when I looked on exif cleaner, sounds like I need to look again.

Re: Do I need to clean these pics

Right everyone on here who said it just takes couple of seconds to exif clean these photo's, my iPad's Safari browser cannot download any of these microdate cleaning apps, exif cleaner cannot be downloaded to it, and nor can anything else that comes up when I use google search to look for exif cleaner type info. So what is next in this ridiculously difficult process of trying to clean up my pics before I start adding them to my ebay accounts.

Re: Do I need to clean these pics

Earlier you said you were going to move the pics to a PC and then upload, so what is the problem?

Take pics, email them to your PC and then clean then in a few seconds :)

RosieTosie 04-30-2015 12:27 PM

Re: Do I need to clean these pics

Right yes that is what I am going to have to do Yankee because this iPad is a nightmare to do anything like photo cleaning on.
