Routing number questions
 

If my PayPal account details are in Michigan but I opened my bank account in another state let's say Utah should I use the Utah routing number or the Michigan routing number?

Use whatever routing number your bank gave you. It won't make any difference to PayPal.

If you are UNSURE of what the routing number should be, then ask your bank. Using a routing number that is not associated with your account number will result in a deposit to somebody else's account, or in the deposit being returned because the bank counld not identify the customer.

I just added my bank account on PayPal I added a savings account but I noticed on the PayPal screen it says checking should I be worried?

I have used savings accounts before with no problems at all. PayPal cannot tell from an account number whether or not the account is a savings or checking account.

Yeah you have nothing to worry about as long as its a USA bank, the particular state it was opened in makes no difference. A lot of banks use the same routing numbers for multiple states anyways

Yes, and banks can use routing numbers however they please once they are assigned to them. There are no standards for them, which is why it would be difficult for PayPal - or anyone else - to make any decisons based on what the routing number of your account is.

You would use the regular routing number of the branch state your bank is registered in - nothing to worry about

Can PayPal trace your bank account and routing number to see whom owns the account?

No they cannot.
They do not have access to the name of the bank account holder or his personal information.
Not without a court order that would force the bank to give up that sort of information.

Only if they obtain a court order.

But , if you make a deposit/transfer, the name could be seen.
