What were the biggest time savers you discovered since selling on EB?

I remember when I first discovered printing shipping labels on the 2X7 inch labels, I actually bought the label printer for another purpose and it was the biggest time saver I ever discovered. Up until that time I had just paid at the post office and no less than a dozen post office employees told me (many, many times over, almost annoyed at times, which made me think the label thing was for THEIR benefit, not mine) that the prepaid printed shipping labels were cheaper/easier/faster. Once I started using them, I was so angry at myself for sitting there writing by hand on the small flat rate boxes one after another for all those years.

That's an old discovery, and judging by the packages I receive, almost everyone has switched to some version of a printed/paid shipping label. Now tonight I was reminded of that discovery while replying in a post and echoing someone else's recommendation to use a 24/hr post office drop window/box if you happen to live anywhere close to one. It's one of those things that you hear over and over but don't make an effort to try and then one day you do and you think "why didn't I do this a long time ago" (By the way- driving a good bit out of your way to regularly mail from a 24/hr drop box and removing the whole postal-line experience (if you can, and have the option) from your life was for me, almost on the same level of discovery as the self-stick postal labels.

Which makes me wonder, are there a few other things that I could/should try for my routine, which would make things so much easier? Anyone else discovered something that is a huge time saver that you can't recommend enough...?

If there were a list...

1) Prepaid postage labels- either Ebay shipping or another vendor (of course, this is an old one)

2) Look up and try using the 24/hr post office drop off window if there is one even anywhere close to where you live.

any other recommendations...?

I didn't realize that there were actual LABELS that I could buy when printing postage online... I would cut it out of regular printing paper and tape it on.

I felt so stupid once I realized it months later lol

ShipStation - HANDS DOWN! Saves HOURS OF TIME!

Pulls orders from all of your accounts...

One click prints the packing slips.
One click buys the postage and prints the labels.
One click uploads all of the tracking numbers and leaves positive feedback.

No more manual printing, going from one account to the next. No more having to leave feedback or input tracking numbers. No more going order by order...

I LOVE THEM!!!

Does ship station work on accounts that are less than 90 days old?

Actually, I'm not sure. Usually, when I create a new account, I don't have much volume on it for at least 90 days. But I don't see why not. Of course, ever marketplace has its own rules and ShipStation works with more than a dozen of them.

Love me some VMware!! Can have 10 different computers running in one program, each tab with a different computer and different VPN IP Address, makes multi-tasking a breeze!

And agree with Jeff shipstation is life saver!

I was just going to say these bulk label printing and postal drop off options will be excellent after the 90 day time slot, that all important first few months when not enough selling can be done to make these options worth while,

On a few of my busier days, when I was only taking about 10 small parcels/large envelopes into the post office, one or two of the counter assistants would mention drop and go that the post office offers as being worthwhile taking a look at, if I just got my packages up to about 20 a day.

I have about three weeks to go to get up to the 90 days so will be looking at getting busier then and so start aiming for that initial 20 packages a day. I have seen shipstation mentioned often in the forum but think it must be USA only, we have drop and go and personal postal impressions over here both offered by Royal Mail, and they will both be for people who are posting enough packages each day for them to be worthwhile.

Shipstation doesn't use your personal internet connection to pull the Data off EBay/PP, it uses its own server to do that. There's no linking involved.

Personally buying a simple black and white LazerJet printer was huge for me. For like 3 years (this was 5+ years ago) I dealt with inkjets which were slow and you had to wait for the ink to dry. When I tried to refill the cartridges it was a mess. If you ship enough items I would say even a simple Black and White LazerJet printer is a must.

I like shipstation. I just don't like the feel of all my accounts in one basket...
