'IF' being the operative word. Am sure it will be a matter of being careful.

I agree, you have to be careful and that applies to all merchant accounts as well as to ebay. I do think more competition is a good thing though.

GreenBean 02-16-2009 07:29 PM

Been asking associates who use paymate on Oztion (an Australian alternative to ebay).
Overall the opinion is that they do like the fact that funds are in the bank accounts overnight. Now this may well be in Australia only. Sent a little questionnaire out & will give
an update when completed.

JamesYaBaoy 02-16-2009 08:25 PM

I would be happy with them if they dont try to run the same antics as paypal....

GreenBean:Could you ask them about chargeback situations...?Does Paymate fight them or just throw in the towel before the match has begun like paypal

GreenBean 02-16-2009 08:40 PM

^^^^James, that is the one point I am trying to get info about for us.

JamesYaBaoy 02-25-2009 11:53 PM

Alright..Paymate is officaly open(well not really)

Once you signup you have to submit a merchant application subject to approval from Wells Fargo.

There is an option of providing the buisness' EIN...BUT ALL owners on the accoiunt MUST provide their SSN.

stepia 02-28-2009 01:30 AM

What about Moneybookers? Do they require SSN too?

cgbuys23 03-02-2009 07:19 PM

I guess paymate and propay both verify through wells fargo. And I found out wells fargo works with first data only to process credit cards. So i guess paymate and propay are both going through first data.

importracer150 03-02-2009 10:10 PM

Yes money bookers requires S.S number also to work with ebay checkout. I just tried to sign up with them.

newguy121 03-03-2009 05:09 AM

Google First Data Merchant Services. Check out the ripoff report links.

I wouldnt touch First Data with a 100 foot pole. And I am speaking from experience.

cgbuys23 03-03-2009 02:38 PM

same here, they took out 30k from my bank account because i got chargebacks totaling about 1k only. I was negative in my bank account. *******s didnt even tell me anything. I got into a big mess with the bank.

newguy121 03-04-2009 03:36 AM

You can submit a ACH dispute on the total amount and the bank will pull the funds back. Look into it. I had this done before with google checkout and got the full amount back. Now....google checkout then is trying to ruin my credit by sending me letters, but I have cause to fight them.

That's crooked! I bet they share the SS# with eBay, too!

simogold 03-06-2009 03:57 PM

does anyone knows how long does it take to get approved from PayMate?
it has been one week now since i applied.
Thank you

importracer150 03-06-2009 08:58 PM

Its tougher to get on paymate+money bookers than paypal, paymate+ money bookers wants s.s. as soon as u sign up.

doughboykilla 03-06-2009 11:50 PM

I sign up with paymate and yet to be approved i signed up on the 27th of feb. I dont plan to use it on ebay as it contans my real info

JamesYaBaoy 03-07-2009 03:20 AM

YUP..im still waiting also..

newguy121 03-16-2009 01:16 PM

Any positive experiences with moneybookers?

Ive had the account with them for the past 4 years but only used it for internationals. I think once your paid, youre paid. But I am timid to integrate it into ebay.

Any thoughts on usage since integrating?

JamesYaBaoy 03-16-2009 07:46 PM

There is a positive:

Disputes are settled THROUGH the card holder..Meaning no PayPal BS.

Paymate has Yet to approve my application even after 2-3 weeks.

Money Bookers need sno applicaiton and integrated into eBay more easily.

yaw1800 03-16-2009 07:59 PM

and using it hasnt linked it to your old ebay accounts or anything??

JamesYaBaoy 03-18-2009 03:57 PM

Hi there,

Your merchant application has been submitted to our bank and is processing with them now. We do apologise for the delay caused by a large number of applications. Please be assured we will let you know the outcome as soon as possible
