Any Success Stories Calling Paypal Over Limitations?
 

ive just been limited - obviously they want my SSN - :mad: but i have a green card - I was thinking of calling them in person ... reckon they will take that as proof of identity. Us green carders dont all have SSN's anyway. So any success stories actually communicating with paypal people over the phone?

I suggest calling them and just telling them you don't have a SS#. I know someone that has done this and they just asked to send a scan of the green card.

i actually did this on one of my accounts and it totally worked. they didnt ask for any green card though

I was always curious about this. I would like to know what they said and dont offer to scan your green card, just see what they say first. Also communicating via phone is best because its faster and you dont want to wait 48s for a generic email.

when i told the woman that i was not a natural born citizen of the country, she said ok and that she would make a note of it on the account. from then on, never had any troubles when it came to SS part of the limitation. Dont know if one would always be that lucky though... Ignorance and humility is the way to go when talking to paypal employees :)

im going to do this on another account and when the limitation arrives, i'll see if lightning can strike twice

I think its legitimate request. There isnt anything in their policy that says you have to have a SS to use a US paypal. right? If they limited my account and i legitimately dont have a SS and they refuse to remove the limitation on those grounds, i would sue for discrimination :sly:

Are there any updated to this situation? The "Green Card Defense" sounds promising....
