The vero strikes keep adding up and nothing is done!!! I don't know how I'm surviving but the constant is that I have never opened up a single message in ebay nor my e-mail regarding the violations. Luck?

Ballsack 07-31-2008 02:28 AM

Doesn't ebay put a limit on how many listings (vero or otherwise) you can post on new accounts or have you linked a pp acct to it?

any help would be greatly appreciated !

aking 08-07-2008 01:36 PM

so can I get around Vero by just taking a picture of my receipt for the brand named item?

aking 08-07-2008 01:55 PM

Getting Around Vero...

Ok I tried to do some research in here about avoiding Vero. I am surprised that nobody said anything about taking a picture of the original receipt of purchase in the auction. Seems pretty obvious to me. Doesn't this solve the Vero problem???

aking 08-07-2008 02:08 PM

????????????????????

viking23 08-07-2008 02:13 PM

Pretty easy to take a picture of a bogus receipt.
Ebay aint dumb.

Removed Listing - has it been reported by vero or another E-Bayer????

I received several of the following messages from E-Bay regarding listings they had removed for trademark infringement:-

"MC019 eBay Listing Removed: Trademark Breach - Unauthorised Item

Dear

Thank you for your recent Fixed Price listing on eBay. Unfortunately, your item(s) breached one or more of our policies and had to be removed from the site. Any associated fees have been credited to your account and any bidders on this item have been notified.

Why did we remove your listing?

Trademark infringement is unlawful and breaches eBay's policies. A trademark is a unique sign (such as a name, word, phrase, logo, or symbol) that a company uses to identify its products and/or services.

Using another company's trademark in a way that may confuse buyers about the source of goods or services, or confuses buyers into believing that the seller is affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the trademark owner is both illegal and against eBay's policies. Examples include counterfeits, unauthorised replica items and items that bear the brand or logo of a company without that company's permission.

Guideline: If the product you are listing bears the brand or logo of a company, but it wasn't made or authorised by that company, don't sell it on eBay.

You may not deny knowledge of, or disclaim responsibility for, the authenticity or legality of any item you list, for example by adding a disclaimer to your listing. Before listing an item on eBay, you should make sure that you're legally able to sell the item and that it's authentic. If you're not sure whether an item is authentic, please don't list it on eBay.

Has my listing been removed because it has been reported by Vero or is it just that another E-Bayer has reported it to limit competition? I have tried to get an answer from E-Bay but to no avail!! I may be being naive here but surely E-Bay wouldn't pull listings just on another E-Bayers say so???? If it is the case that another E-Bayer is reporting the listings is there anyway to find out who it is? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, I can print out a receipt showing that I bought the entire Luis Vuitton company, inventory and all, for a buck from Family Dollar. Cut it to the right size and wrinkle it for a nice realistic photo.

I think VeRO members and eBay know about computers, scanners, image-editing and printers. If they're gonna yank a listing, I'm not sure a photo of a piece of paper with printing on it would stop them. Just my opinion, wiser heads who have done it will correct me, I'm sure.

Ha, ha...

"If the VERO twit actually replies to your email:

I typically can't wait to answer. Their emails are usually hot air, rife with empty threats and demands that violate the law. For example, one time a law firm demanded a list of my customers, receipts, etc. I told them to shove it and get a court order. They did not get the court order. I hope they shoved it. Sideways.

When you answer, try to be polite. It's difficult. I have a hard time doing so and am usually sarcastic and baiting. Never admit any wrong-doing, and feel free to ask them why they think they can commit perjury and file false copyright complaints."

I love you tell them to shove it and then the next paragraph you tell people to try to be polite.

It works and works quite well.

The forum is lucky to have tabberone as a member.

oompaloompa 03-12-2009 07:12 AM

Loachy, that looks like an ebayer reporting you. The vero owner letters are a bit different.

I find that once you have had even a minor disagreement on an account with another ebayer, that account is more prone to takedowns, now it is either ebay watching you more or its that ebayers getting back at you, its no coincidence that smooth sailing accounts get way more vero staying up.

I am sceptical about the takedown workaround as I had an account suspended for vero and I got in touch with vero owner stating my goods were genuine and in any case I wouldnt list them again, the vero owner emailed ebay on behalf asking to reinstate me and copied me in and ebay just ignored all emails, they didnt want me to win, end of story.

I dont believe that ebay thinks an account owner has any teeth and will do anything to them for not replying. all you can do is email, livehelp or phone, they know you will give up at some point.

Id like to hear from someone who has challenged a takedown using this method and won. has anyone here actually followed the steps eg get counternotice and then relist if not taken to court etc?

Can you do it regularly on same account?

Wont ebay just totally get angry with you, get you for something else or keep taking you down, knowing they are wasting your time too?

GreenBean 03-12-2009 07:33 AM

Oompapa, have you looked at tabberone's site? Tabberone. Great fabrics and collectibles. She has done battle. Not sure if I have followed you but tis my
tuppence worth. Let me know if I am off base.

oompaloompa 03-12-2009 07:40 AM

yes, Ive looked at it

I personally dont agree that ebay simply lies on its back and surrenders when you issue all this counter stuff on the takedown work around, I think it may be dangerous to advise forumers to fight ebay on this, it may draw much more unwanted attention to them and get them suspended. If there is a stalker on the account or that particular item is just too risky, I would lie lower on that account. I have several accounts that sell risky vero and some can take it and some get takedowns much more, its a bit of a mystery, but as I said, the common factor for me has been previous buyers, I think, when you sell vero you are always vunerable to that, or maybe im paranoid, might just be coincidence.....

Tabberone is refering to federal lawsuits etc, most of us have a life other than ebay and arent going to go that far. I respect her initiative and strength, plus she sounds like toblerone and anything to do with chocolate is alway going to win with me!

I would like to hear from anyone who has and won, without going to court or doing anything other than emails.

GreenBean 03-12-2009 07:47 AM

^^^foster, tabberone does all of her own work. I do not think she is worried about this too much.LOL

foster 03-12-2009 08:03 AM

Just saying they might get more business if it didn't look like a free page from the mid 90s'.

Hey, whatever works for you.

tabberone 04-01-2009 05:01 PM

I have as much business as I can handle. I sell fabric. That's a touchy feely kind of product. People want to know if the fabric is right for their project, want to share what they are making, send me pictures of their pets etc.

ovidiu 04-12-2009 02:05 PM

Hey tabberone, welcome to the forum. Good to see you here.

Veroed!!

Please add "CHI FLAT IRONS" to that list IMMEDIATELY!!

jbluntz 11-14-2009 09:05 PM

Selling vero is easy, I had an item I couldn't sell because ebay said I needed a verified paypal account to sell that item, which i dont only use moneybookers, and before I recieved that message I had already listed some and ebay only allows 5 day or more auctions for that item. So I just simply delete the description and put something that doesn't have any key words related to the item and change the title, took out the name and ony use part of the added on acronyms that people are familiar with, kept the same picture and same catogorie and now I've been selling about 4 a day with 1 day auctions, ebay's system doesn't recognize it.

oompaloompa 11-16-2009 05:59 AM

^^^ Ive seen those auctions they are much safer but get way less revenue per item

jbluntz 11-16-2009 06:07 AM

That's what I thought to but mine get the same 4 is just the number i stick with for now plus 1 buy it now or best offer and each 4 sells every day at 800 to 1000% profit margin as soon as 1 sells I relist and within an hour already has bids on it.

shoot2kill 11-16-2009 12:36 PM

I do few vero work arounds, but nothing serious profits sometime 300%-400% but 1000% w/4 @ $800 a piece, thats good ****! Keep it up!

jbluntz 11-17-2009 12:27 AM

Actually there only $50 a piece and cost me $5 a piece, if my math isn't mistaken that would be 1000% and they sell like mad. I'm only taking it it slow because I'm on a new account.

casual92king 11-19-2009 02:42 PM

can anyone confirm that ebayhateluv theory works? and will it get me good traffic even if it does, thanks guys

oompaloompa 11-20-2009 05:12 PM

^ I personally do not think it works well, it may get you some sales but nowhere near as quick and as many bids as if you put in brand name. When I see one in fact I will buy it myself, as I know what to look for eg. designer style bag, or cc shoes. The seller has obviously been caught by a takedown and wants to offload goods without waiting and resting account or they have reached their 30 day limit and want to offload, I buy it and sell it at 4 times the price using brand name...

jbluntz 11-20-2009 06:45 PM

Well me I have to turn down buyers, I've got people begging for this stuff and it still sells at the exact same price that the ones with the company name sell at..

oompaloompa 11-21-2009 01:03 PM

yes, I think in certain catagories , it can be done like buntz said, say if someone is looking for the generic item, say flat irons, then sees pic of branded one and thinks whoa

jbluntz 11-21-2009 01:12 PM

Also alot of it has to do with the name as well , items that have several words in the name like software you can easily remove the companies name and have plenty of words to use that people use in their search.

I think I know what you are selling. I quit the software game a couple 10 months ago. Yes it can sell without adding the companies name to the title. You make want to get back in, but I'll leave that area to you.(For Now)

jbluntz 11-22-2009 03:51 AM

I'm sure if you came in I would still have just as many sales, the stuff is like digital crack.

oompaloompa 01-30-2010 05:09 AM

regarding the MC019 that is not from vero member, its just a random reporting....does submitting receipt to ebay help with it?

do they want a close up copy of it with all info, or will a blurry copy do?

oompaloompa 02-01-2010 06:12 AM

ok Ive got answer to my own question (as usual) the receipt has to be sent to ebay or vero owner, an actual one not scanned copy..

ddda88 02-01-2010 06:30 PM

HI all

I'll be soon listing VERo item(s). The items were selling well but I had to stop selling them cos of MC019 email. Per your advise I let the account cool for 3 months where the notification will expire. What do you recommend me doing next, shall I start selling on the same account or shall I dedicate a stealth account for it or even 2 stealth accounts.

Thanks
