Ebay requiring all new sellers to fax now? Is that true?

I just got off phone with ebay about my account being suspended, it was a new account and i hadnt sold anything on it yet, they want me to fax stuff proving my identity, the guy told me this is a requirement for all new sellers to fax stuff over and also they doing it to some old accounts. Is this true?? He said they put that in place couple month ago.

It sure seems true to me. All of the accounts I've opened since the start of the year have gone through the same thing. Every single one.

It hasn't been true for me, been selling on dozens of acct's less than 30 days old without being asked to send anything, I know people that have but it's only after they list a high risk item.

happen to me. I open 4 accounts within last 2 weeks and after I list stuff to sell they ask for ID to fax

This has not happen to me yet,
I have made over 10 stealth accounts,
The worst i had to do is call and pass a verify test over the phone,
Had to call 2 times and passed both times,
Guess its just luck of the draw or something on ebay these days,

Every account I have opened lately gets put on hold when I list my first item and I have to call. Then I fail the multiple choice questions and they ask me to fax docs. They claim this is for all new sellers...does everyone here have to call ebay after listing item #1???
