Non-authentic items being reported

is it possible that there are not-so legitimaate buyers looking to identify VERO first hand?
I have a current buyer refusing to accept money back, and instead wants to send the item to the parent company for a replacement. I am seeing potential problems for my account should they follow thru.

Debating weather I should close my bank account that is linked to the paypal.

anyone have similar stories?

What is it that you sold them? is it real, if so did you know already, etc. These details must be brought up to get a real answer here.

If you sold a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ item and you send it to the parent company you will probably get a subpoena.

Kinda a similar story., I sold one of those CHI hair irons one time (HIGH VERO item) They were real for sure but there were so many ⊗⊗⊗⊗ that a buyer of mine was a legal rep for their company and having me send it to place in TX with the legal name on it with CHI in the name. I did a search and all he purchased was hundreds of these Irons from different people which was probably to check each one for a legal case. I thought, he is getting so many he probably wont even notice so I just didnt send it to him. Never heard back so just forgot about it. They are like $120 and never noticed it.

If you are confident in your VERO item being legit and have the docs then just send it to them. If not then that is a reason not to sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗ VERO items to begin with. Just not worth the hassle.

This may turn into you just needing to abandon the account and start over. The risk of risky items.

There have been undercover buyers on eBay for a long time, but activity has really picked up in the last 6-9 months.

The economy is in the dumps. Everryone's sales are down. Brand owners are sick of waiting for the government to protect them and are taking matters into their own hands.

If an undercover buyers purchases from you, the item will be tested to see if it is real or counterfeit. If real, all is well and you won't hear anything from them. If counterfeit, expect a letter from their law firm, most likely followed by a lawsuit.

There is really no sure fire way to know who they are, and they are getting smarter every day. For example, if Warner Brothers has you in their sights, the undercover buyer will probably NOT be from Los Angeles. They could be from Oklahoma, or Arkansas or somewhere else that people wouldn't suspect. The address they give will probably be residential. The order will look normal in every way.

The most aggressive law firm in this niche is Johnson & Pham in Woodland Hills, California, but there are several others as well.

The bottom line? Selling counterfeits is risky. If you get caught, there are consequences.
