Default Chinese New Year and shipping

My Chinese supplier has been off work about 3 weeks now, she did warn me that DHL and SAL would not work for a while, but it has been an awfully long time now. Does anyone know when the Chinese shipping companies will start work with earnes?. I don't like to press my supplier too much in case she's having family time during the holiday.

For each country I have business relations in, I have put the dates for their public holidays into my calendar (http://www.officeholidays.com/countries/china/)

This helps me prepare well in advance, i.e. buy inventory to last me the duration of their holiday period. I think we've all been stung like this.

In fact Сhineese New Year officially ended on Feb. 2nd, and everybody go to work.

If we take into account all the Chinese traditions - the last day of holidays in 2017 will be on 15th Feb.

My supplier was back the 6th and had an order arranged and to the shipping provider the day he got back. Been waiting for a tracking number for 4 days now... shipping from china will be very slow for the next 2 weeks unfortunately.

I suspect she is not bothering to do orders while the shipping is slow. She's very experienced and I owe her 2000$, so I guess she still wants to do business. She gives random dates for DHL and SAL for when theyre operational again.

Shipping is EXTREMELY expensive right now. Many of us are waiting for UPS, Fedex, DHL, etc....to catch up and prices come back down.

I think this might be the reason for holding off sending items, I expect DHL is expensive and slow. She is very thrifty with postage, seeing as she pays it, and some of my parcels go on some right expeditions!
