How long is this chinese new year ? Because I'm about to go APE on my supplier! I swear I'm going to be upset with this this person out!!!
I was reading on google that it takes 15 days??? 15 day holiday??? Well he has a few days left to answer the dispute.. Matter of fact, I don't even think he read the dispute yet because when I chat with him... He says "3-5 please wait friend"
Welp I ordered on the 31st and that tracking number is still there...

I had a package mailed on 12/13 - and I still have not received it. I was promised I'd get it by Christmas, and now its well after the new year and still nothing! The latest info on the tracking says "dispatch from china"..

Bang
There are many holidays in China that last for several days and a few are a week long. I suggest to avoid this problem in the future that you google it and get a list of all of their holidays so you can order ahead of time without any delay. Right now nothing is coming out of China. Just be patient.

afaik... there is no holidays in china right now, dhgate tells you when there is. My 1 good friendly supplier has been flaky lately, so i went to my other slightly more expensive supplier. He ships dhl when i order a lot, which i like ^^

I'm glad it's not just me stressed out about not having product to sell. Thanks for the info on the long holidays...I better save up all my cash to make some major purchases before too long. I don't want to be stuck without product here in a month

Usually if your DhGate seller provides you with a DHL tracking number that starts with a 6 then that is not your "real" number.
It is one the sellers use to make DhGate happy.
ALL of my packages that are shipped to me via DHL from China starts with a 8
My sellers usually update my "6" number with the "8" number.
This update usually takes about 2-4 days.

It's not a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ number. DHL has a very unique "tracking number" system. The seller gets a "shippers reference" number when they ship the item but that is NOT a Waybill number. The waybill number is not generated until it goes to the export hub for some reason with DHL.
You can track your Waybill number (2-4 days after shipping) on DHL.com
You can only track this "shippers reference" number on this link DHL | Track by Shipper's Reference | English
Most sellers will give you this "Shippers Reference" number and then update you with the Waybill number a few days later. I've never used DHgate but I've been shipping DHL for years.

You can not tracking it because it have not been handed over to dhl ,it need to take time for tranfer the goods from shipping agent to DHL.
But if your supplier send the goods via DHL directly, you can tracking it on same day

Can the attitude & threats. You sound dumb.
Chinese New Year starts in February this year.
You might be refering to an interruption to service which is reasonably common for the usual Christmas-New Year. Happens everywhere. Ergo an order dated 31st December has hardly had time to be shipped. If you are without goods, then you should make sure for new holidays to have the stock in hand. Plan your business better & lighten up Matter of fact, you have not checked info correctly yourself

Greenbean is right, but after 1 or 2 weeks, many factories will be closed. The workers need to go hometown ealier and want to see family quickly after working hard for 1 year.

So I guess the deadline for ordering from China would be say Jan. 23th? Since the holiday starts the 26th gives yourself about 3 days to have it shipped I would guess.

truthfully, I'd have it done by the 18th. That covers problems if it starts in January . Problem I have is that the Year of the Rabbit does not start until 3rd Feb.2011: my HongKong supplier is not going to be around after 31 Jan.2011. I know for a fact he is taking the family to mainland China as a special celebration. Suggest checking the dates carefully.

The 18th it is then sounds good enough to me, not like I'm that short on stock anyway but always good to have a nice round figure to mark on your calender.

Hide Details
sounds like if all goes well another monday delivery, kinda annoying since i ordered on monday. And the # never changed, stayed the same.So i think they ship directly. Just do not ship right away if stock isnt on hand i am guessing... Since i deal with a china supplier who buys from another supplier, i guess gotta wait sometimes

Oh,Bang! You are speaking to the converted.
Seriously I used be the type that wanted to go 'postal' with glitches. It's part of learning to do ecommerce. For sure it's frustrating. If there's simple planing, then the chances {of frustration} are possibily reduced.
That first lesson is always the one that suxs. ((((Bang))) xxx
