Default Post Office Travel Money Card Plus

Hi All

Can I just check the following:

I've had an issue with paypal declining my sending payment today which may take some time to resolve.

In the meantime I need to pay for a won ebay item ASAP. The item I won gives me the option to select to pay for it using a CC (instead of selecting paypal) Does this CC method of payment completely bypass paypal or is it in some way managed by paypal for processing payment??

'Post Office Travel Money Card Plus' offers a method that could work. Has anyone used this method to pay for ebay items? I need to ensure that this card does not risk exposing my true identity?

Thanks for any help

I think they use a AVS system and I am pretty sure when you get the card from the post office they need to see your ID and will register it to your real address

If this is a real account have you tried using your own cards?

Thanks James

This is a stealth ebay and paypal account.

Yes, your're correct about the Post Office travel CC needing ID and home address.

Would I be able to safely use my Entropay CC in ebay to pay for the item? Does ebay require you to enter any personal details when using a CC for payment e,g, name and address as this would be an issue because my Entropay CC uses my 'real' info and paypal uses my stealth details.

Failing this, could I use a friends CC to pay?

Somehow I need to get my won item paid for quickly, then I can work on getting a stealth bank account setup to fix the paypal issue - but this bit will take some time.

Thanks

Stand down all is well again, panic over…

I should have re-consulted the fantastic ‘stealth guide’ before panicking – silly me…

I didn’t quite realise how safe and quick it is to Verify your stealth paypal with a real bank account. Once I read in the guide that stated (Paypal cannot see the bank account name or any other details of your bank account) I was confident to go through the verification process using a natwest savings account that has never been used for paypal.

From entering my bank details into paypal, to receiving the 4 digit code into by bank account and then finally entering this code into paypal, I was back up and running in less than 5 minutes!

3 cheers to the stealth guide – worth every penny! And to all the good folks here on this invaluable forum as well!
