royal mail tracking numbers

hi,
can someone please help me out need some royal mail
tracking numbers from last friday , monday or tuesday
thanks in advance

Werfella 05-06-2009 01:45 PM

 is this for the tracking number part of the PP limitation? If so, I went through this a few times and just told them I no longer had the receipts. If your customers already left you positive fb, then explain to PP that shipment wasn't an issue. (they usually lift the limitation). If they haven't left fb, then it's probably a different story, and I'm sorry, I have no tracking numbers from last week. Give it a try- you'll be surprised with what you can get away with by calling a PP rep. (just make sure your story is straight).

sorry wrong date need 5th and 6th may

oompaloompa 05-07-2009 03:28 AM

it is risky for us to provide you with tracking numbers, in case we need exact same ones in future, and general tracing and anonymity in general, not a thing to ask on forum really.
If it was sent without tracking, say so, they are not compulsary

I sent out a product to a customer in saudi arabia. He tells me it was never received, I do kinda believe him but I dont really wanna send out another one because its quite expensive [around £80]. I didnt get a tracking number. Any way around this?

Im guessing he'll open a pp dispute and claim the money back otherwise

how long has it been? it may be held in customs. saudi arabia mail can be slow.

cortex 05-08-2009 09:49 AM

^^^It was sent around 4 weeks ago.

Do you think I should tell my customer to wait a little longer before I post out a replacemet (which I will do albeit grudgingly)

oompaloompa 05-08-2009 10:45 AM

most carriers have a time limit before they are considered lost, therefore quote the terms and conditions, eg royal mail its 45 days. say you cant replace or refund until officailly lost and you yourself can make claim against carrier.

cortex 05-08-2009 01:52 PM

I dont even have proof of postage

oompaloompa 05-10-2009 10:01 AM

not keeping proof of postage in some form is NOT helpful. About 1 in 20 transactions have some sort of query on them re postage.

cortex 05-11-2009 06:53 AM

Wont be happening again thats for sure!

2 services

There are only really 2 services when using royalmail to send overseas
and they are....

1st Option = To send "Airmail Small Packets" = £
(Delivery From ? days) (No Tracking Number Avaliable)
2nd Option = To send "International Signed For" = £
(Delivery From ? days) (Tracking Number will be supplied)

"Airmail Small Packets" will only cover you upto 39 pounds

International Signed For will cover whatever the cost of your item was
9 out of 10 times

but not all the time...i will give you an example

I sent an Louis Vuitton bag to indonesia..the cost of the bag was 500 pounds
but cos of the country it was going to,i was only covered for 250 pounds

but for example if i would have sent that bag to France it would have been
covered for the whole 500 pounds at no extra cost

oompaloompa 06-08-2009 02:18 AM

international signed for would cover £250-£500 if you pay extra £2.20 per item, and it depends where it is sent as to what comp you get..

uk_making_chatters_disapp 06-09-2009 05:52 AM

Maybe

It normally always covers you for 500 except certain countries like
indonesia that would only cover me upto 250 and thats it lol

GreenBean 06-09-2009 06:18 AM

If you send the item International Datapost you get better compensation.

uk_making_chatters_disapp 09-15-2009 12:28 AM

how much

yes your prolly right mate... but how much more does a average package cost with datapost compared to the royal mail..i bet its at least 25%

but on a package that i just sent to china and it was worth 500 but only got a 250 insurance on it and now its damaged according to the buyer and he sent it back to me and there is nothing wrong with it! those ????? at paypal still give him his reddies back

GreenBean 09-15-2009 01:26 AM

Considering one item I send from the UK is over £900 there is no way it goes without as much insurance as is possible. Got caught once (for £200) and never ever again.:fight:

Re: royal mail tracking numbers

I got an art commission from the Philippines, wasn't able to do anything with it as the post over there in a world of its own, they have lost money on trying to buy things online, our next door neighbours have daughter working with the VSO there and they never risk sending anything over by post
