Default Complicated eBay/PayPal question!

Hi, this is a little complicated but please bear with me as I really need to resolve this urgently.

a customer lodged a non-receipt claim against me with PayPal and was given a refund. (This was a genuine misunderstanding by the way and has been resolved amicably). This left me with a negative balance in my PP account, and consequently PP restricted my account.

I then listed some stuff on eBay but got an error message saying that the PP email address was not verified (presumably because of the restriction) and inviting me to offer an alternative PP email address. So, I set up a new PP account, put the email address in a number of eBay listings and all was fine.

The sales went through, the customers paid by PP. I was about to add a bank account to the new PP address so I could withdraw the money, when I got a message from PP saying the account was restricted due to suspect behaviour or something similar. This was followed by eBay telling me they were restricting my account until the PP issue is resolved!

I'm still sending out the goods - the customers have paid after all - but I'm left unable to get the money or use eBay. Any ideas as to how long PP will take to investigate and whether I'll definitely get my money in due course?

Thanks in advance ...

If you haven't already shipped the items you should refund the buyers, possibly have them send the money to another account. Otherwise you will more then likely have to wait 180 days to get the money.

Thanks Lakeman. Problem is I can't refund them as they paid into the PP account that is now restricted?

You can refund payments, even when the account is limited. Click on an order and you should see issue refund.

HI I also have the same problem with Paypal being restricted, I have tried on each payment to send a refund but there is no refund link at all. I have also went to my good Paypal account and the refund link is in each of those so I am not sure if it is something new they are doing but I can not send refunds to my buyers either.

I have not tried to send a refund in awhile but I highly doubt Paypal would take away the option of refunds a buyer. You are doing something wrong. If your account is limited, you can always refund them the money. Why would you ship out an item to someone when you can't receive the payment, thats dumb.

As far as the verication part, yes you need to verify your paypal account before you can use it. Seems like you need to figure out how to properly make a "stealth" account and try again. Good Luck.

on some restrictions there is no refund option you must email paypal asking them to refund a specifc buyer and they will do it.

I've never not had the option to refund a buyer. That's pointless for paypal remove the option for refunding for certain restrictions, if you can call and they'll do it.

yea, that seems retarded but i guess that makes it easier for paypal to steal someones money and maybe that was the point.

Just to confirm I had no problems issuing refunds; just click on "details" of the transaction, scroll to the end and I found the "refund" link there.

Thanks for letting us know, I figured paypal would allow you to do so.
