Selling low cost but high volume

I would like to sell around 300 items per week, with a cost of <£10 each.

Would this be a hard task to achieve?

I was planning on using a sole trader paypal, and provide photoid and proof of addr to lift the eu limit, but are there other limits I must be aware of?

I am new to ebay so I don't know completely what to expect.

Re: Selling low cost but high volume

You will need to slowly build upto that level

£3000 worth of sales cannot be gotten to within a few weeks. It will take a few months to get to that level of trust with eBay and PayPal

Hi james.

Even if I provide the photo id and proof of address?

Also, is sole trader type account ok to use here? or should I be aiming for LTD?

James, Thanks for reply.

Even if i provide photoID and proof, its still a problem?

Is it because the account will be brand new? What if they gave me say, a £10k limit, should I intentionally stay well below it?

Re: Selling low cost but high volume

Work your way up to those limits... The less risk you pose the more likely you are to succeed.

My personal limits are:

Month 1 - £500
Month 2 £1000
Month 3 - £1500

Use multiple acccounts if you want to sell more from the start.

Long term you will appreciate the advice, and not going gung ho at the start.

It would take a while to build up to that, in your first month you should really sell no more than 10 items a day

You have to be squeaky clean, good and cause ebay/paypal no grief.

You need more than a piece of paper with ID to rise to the status of maintaining an account moving that much moola through.

Are you prepared for returns?
Can you swamp your customer with great service?

Just a few issues to ponder.

Re: Selling low cost but high volume

First off you're setting your target too high. "I would like" and reality are two very different things. 300 sales a week on a brand new account is very unlikely unless you're selling at a loss or well below the average price.

If you are able to sell 300 a week though then it's best to split the sales over multiple accounts. Make sure you're comfortable with stealth techniques first.

I sell low cost items at high volume. I also sell a few high cost items and low volume. The low cost items help to make sure I always have funds available in my paypal account at all times. I sell about 7-10 items a day at $5-10 each.

$35-$100 per day in sales is far from high volume. Assuming a 20% margin you're lucky to profit in the double digits each day if those are your accurate stats.

I agree with you about mixing low and high cost items as a good selling strategy, but a true "high-volume" account would be turning over at least 10x the amount you said.

If you’re new to ebay how did you get approved to sell 1200 items a month?

After 100s of accounts ive never had 1 account start with over 10 items limit.

It's all about how you create your accounts. There are accounts sold here with a starting item limit of 5000.

I saw that, too. I went back and read it a couple times to make sure I wasn't imagining things lol
