The key is running multiple accounts. |

As you can see it is only the trading name that needs to match. I assume ebay arent bothered about the addresses matching as many businesses have different home and business addresses. Anyway, it's worth a go if my account is going to be brown bread anyhow? | Its a little not true. After my chat with ebay customer support what needs to match is:
1. Business name
2. Business address
3. Business phone number |

Business phone number | What I don’t understand is some people have address as registered office for companies house and vat registration the registered office is usually your accountants office address so I’m sure the address does not have to match but the trading name does. I’ve also checked other sellers vat via vat search and addresses don’t match and another thing some don’t even have tel number so Ebay can only see what anyone can publicly can see unless they have acces vat records fully which I can’t imagine them having. |

On ebay we all have a registered address. So this address must match with your business ltd registration address when you input vat. Not the vat registration address but the companies address from companies house info. |

I do have a VAT number for my main business but it does not match my business name and address on eBAY | Just call them and tell them you applied for vat number and waiting from hmrc as it takes many weeks to arrive |

They will do it VEERRYYYY slowly, but they need to do them to appease HMRC, so essentially, its luck of the draw if you get pulled. |

Chiniese are back with vat numbers they don't care they just need number to show that's all |

Lets try again. IT IS NOW LAW that any online latform is equally liable as the seller for VAT/Taxes. Therefore HMRC can prosecute anyone they choose, and as many as they choose, and each person/company they do means eBay are EQUALLY liable. Do eBay want to pulled into a lawsuit for some kid selling Chinese tat? Dont be ridiculous.
There will always be new sellers, as soon as they rid one, another will appear and at that point below VAT threshold. It will eventually become a 'wheel' similar to stealth, remove one, another appears, and so it continues. |

thats what i been thinking they may force big sellers |
| james_112233 | 04-16-2018 01:13 PM | Re: Ebay are demanding I display my VAT number in listings. Thought I would chime in here, I was also sent this email on a Monday. I have exceeded the threshold without realising this year.
It will be 30 days tomorrow since ebay emailed me asking me to register or 'they may' be forced to put limitations on my account.
Well I stopped selling as soon as I got the email. And on the 20th of April this month once they check my seller level again I still won't be below the threshold. As a matter of fact I won't be below the threshold until next month I believe ...
I will let you know what happens. I am fully prepared for my account to get restrictions put on it. I am in no position to become VAT registered as I fully believe I won't have a business anymore if I do.
If my account does get restrictions put on it I will potentially lose an account with 4k feedback and have to re-build myself again. Or alternatively figure out a way to become VAT registered and hope to God people still buy from me and my business grows ... but that's a big hope in such a competitive market full off private sellers. | | All times are GMT -5.
