Contacting Financial Ombudsman about paypal

Paypal have held my funds (1600 pounds) for over six months.

The account was stealth and was limited in last October. all documents were provided and they did not accept stealth passport ID, provided them with birth certificate and bank statement still would not accept.

Has anyone had any success in getting funds released by complaining to the financial ombudsman?

Already submitted a complaint want awaiting to hear back.

Apparently going to a small claims court has worked for a few people ... search the forum.

The FO can help, but its not a great nor direct help.

They will contact PayPal on your behalf and ask them to release to the funds. Sometimes PayPal do take note and release them, sometimes they ignore it.

The FO will ask you about the money, so you have to be prepared to either tell them that the account was not in your name or bluff it give them the false name and say you have sinced moved since the PP account was limited, as they will send you a letter to the address on your PP file otherwise.

Its the first step before Small Claims Court as its free to do.

PayPal are buffering the soon to be lack of profits from not being the sole eBay payments processor by witholding money from hooky accounts.
