Default Paypal excessive risk but eBay still working fine

Good day everyone. Need some advice.

Today i received the following email from Paypal:

After reviewing your PayPal account, we've determined there to be excessive risk involved in doing business with you and we'd like to begin parting ways in a manner that is least disruptive to your business.

If there is any money in your account balance, it will be held for 180 days (from the date of the last payment you received) to cover any disputes that might be opened by your buyers.

After 180 days, we may ask you to provide us with a proof of identity and a proof of address before you can withdraw any remaining balance.

If there are outstanding buyer complaints open against you, you can refund your customers via the Resolution Centre in your PayPal account.

We reserve the right to close any account reported to be involved in possible high-risk behaviour. In the event of a dispute, we'll try to recover the money from you by debiting your PayPal balance first and, if there are insufficient funds in your PayPal balance, we reserve the right to collect your debt to PayPal by any other legal means.

We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter and regret any inconvenience it may cause you.

Yours sincerely,
PayPal

This ebay & Paypal UK account was bought end December last year. Followed the stealth method of listing products and brought it up to current 2280 / GBP 21,500 by March this year. In April, I made a mistake of listing medicated products, which i quickly took down when asked to by Paypal. However they limited my account for a few weeks before lifting it. However Ebay was cool with these medicated products when I asked them about it. One of the officers was even confused why Paypal would demand that I take the listings down.

Then came the EU receiving limits. Paypal asked for it in early May. Bought the identity and utility bill and submitted them. Waited 3 weeks but there were no response from them. So i called Paypal customer service. First 4 times they just told me to wait. The last time i called, (last friday evening) they said the Passport was too blur and the details could not be seen clearly. This is weird because I personally thought the passport was too clear for comfort. Anyway they asked me to send my driving license through an email link. I haven't had the time to create the driving license when this email came through today.

I know asking them to lift this ban would be a long shot but I would like to know where did i do wrong so that I can hopefully not repeat this. Please help me point out where could I have potentially made any mistakes.

And is there any way to salvage the ebay account since it's only Paypal having issues with me?

Thank you.

Pay any fees on the Ebay account leave it to one side and use when Aden starts managing payment for Ebay. In the mean time open another Ebay and PayPal account to stealth with.

You mean Adyen?

Paypal had been really anal lately. The message centre is basically a joke. Forget about getting a reply from them. Most of the time, the system won't even send you an automated acknowledgement if you send them any emails. Their call centre officers are practically useless if you need any help from them.

These days, they also want to interfere with what we sell on eBay. If I'm in doubt whether the item can be sold on eBay, I'll usually list the item and then run it through the eBay live chat officers. There is no such thing with Paypal. It's just an email, then a few days later boom! your paypal account is limited. You take your listings down, then call them or email them, there will not be any reply from them. You got to call them a few times and hopefully get an officer with a little more initiative who will bother to take a look at the problem.

I'm sure he meant Adyen.

If the payment is going through PayPal, they will always want to know what its for. Their partnership with ebay makes it easy for them to see what you sell, but even when you sell things off ebay, they'll go through notes customers have left to figure out what you're selling. There's no getting away.

Also (unfortunately) you could have sold something you shouldn't have literally once without knowing, and it will creep up on you later when they review your account for whatever reason. Again, unfortunate, but it does happen.

Sounds like you didn't have multiple accounts, would be a good idea to get a few running encase this happens again.
