They can track you down, if they wanted to.

Stealth is all about preventing accounts linking together, so you can operate multiple at a time. Nothing to do with anonymity.

Ebay have pretty much made it clear that there is nothing I can do and I also got in contact with Mapcargo but was told that they can't give me the address of the person the phone was sent to. Yh, thats what I want to do but I still don't know. They don't have my address or name but my Natwest savings account was linked to the paypal. I closed the savings account this morning but I still don't know what I want to do.

Thats what my dad said but I'm so angry and pi**ed off with ebay. Why do they even allow people to use a forwarding address when buying something on there site?

I don't even have a fraction of the £811 I have to give them so I don't know what I can do to be honest.

Yeah, sadly, the bottom line is you’re screwed. You can try all the suggested ideas, but the odds are stacked against you. These people were pros and the phone is long gone, I do like the bricking idea though. That might be the only revenge you ever get.

Winning these kinds of cases are rare as hen’s teeth.

Don’t ever sell anything on EB if you can’t afford to lose your product and your money both.

Low and behold, I got an email today saying that they have once again sided with the buyer because I can't prove what I originally sent to her.

I just want to know, am I screwed? Because I have been having panic attacks all day. My paypal account is £800+ in the red and I already used the money to pay off bills so I literally do not know how I'm going to pay paypal back. Is there anything I can do? The accounts are both stealth accounts and don't have my real name on them. Would I be able to report this to the police some how? I still have the receipt for the Iphone xs so maybe I could send it to them? But I don't know ='(

Any advice would be appreciated, Ian.

I sold 3 iphones the guy opened a returns case andcsentbonly two back. I contacted the police and they made a report which I sent to eBay and PayPal and they listened I got my money back. Lesson I learnt was to video my self opening expensive items that were returned as evidence of the condition of the return. I had so many problems selling expensive newish iphones I was scammed multiple times in different ways that I gave up selling them. Lesson don't sell expensive items like new is iphones also take a walk don't take eBay too seriously it's not worth it. Also get angry not fearfull

This is what I have been thinking about doing. It actually made me ill when my dad told me to pay them and learn from the experience. Like I haven't done anything wrong so why would I let them win like that...

I've been calling them almost everyday and its the same thing every time :( They keep saying they "understand my frustration" makes me want to punch a wall.

I know :'( Why does ebay allow people add these forwarding delivery companies? I specifically put restrictions in my listings that block people from outside the UK from bidding but the restrictions don't make a difference if the buyer is using a forwarding company.

I'm sorry to hear that happened :( I'm not like a business seller or anything I just sell things on ebay every now and then but all this has made me want to just go to cash converters in the future

I generally advise people to steer well clear from selling expensive phones or designer items on eBay. Even though it's genuine, the odds are you're going to have problematic buyers, or you'll run into issues with eBay themselves (if not PayPal).

Best thing to do is sell expensive items like these in person, so using Gumtree, Shpock, Craigslist, and the likes of those..

That's the lesson you should take from here.

eBay is great for selling, but for cheaper, less risky items.

since you are not at fault dont pay a dime let paypal suffer they cant find you even if they did it on different name you can say it not yours they wont waste time proving that
just buy new stealth and careful this time
