Bank account question.

Does PayPal see the account holders name when. You add a bank account and a debit card ??

Yes on bank account.....but up until today, it has not mattered.

On UK account (guessing by your country flag) they can't see the account holders real name. Just the sort code and account number you enter.

The bank however can see the account name you have set on paypal when they send a withdrawal.

Paypal does not retrieve the micro deposit in the UK? If they do, then yes Paypal has the name.

If not, I apologize for posting on this thread and stand corrected.

So are you 100% sure PayPal doesnt see no names or address for the bank or debit cards yes I am in the UK even if you sent the micro payment ?

Only the bank sees the name on the PayPal account when you withdraw from. Your PayPal to the bank is that correct?

Paypal only sees the name if they have to TAKE money out of your account aka if you do not pay your fees and they take it out of your bank account using the direct debit.

the debit card however I am not too sure of, I am pretty sure you should be leaving that out or using a VCC. I have used the debit card in the past that has my name on it and just changed it to the stealth name and it was eventually toasted... but I do not know if that was the reason for it.

No PayPal can only see the name if they debit the account or you send money from the bank to pp. If you use a prepaid acc then they won't even see the name when you transfer to PayPal as account holder name isn't sent with the transfer details.

From what I have been told they can only see your name should they need to reach in to your bank account.

Otherwise only your bank can see the name on your Paypal account (stealth name). Some banks don't care, others do and freeze your money until you can prove you haven't been doing something dodgy to earn it.

Fair enough - I didn't know Paypal lets UK members keep the micro deposits. Maybe it has something to do with the "direct debit" authorization UK accounts have to go through in order to pull money from bank accounts.

With US bank accounts they do retrieve their micro deposits so they have to be able to see the real name on the bank account, but it's never caused problems for stealth accounts.
