got my goods today forwarded from my mailbox, originally came from HK...

They were worth approx £250 but would sell on for approx x 4 that...

they arrived by special delivery from my mailbox to my home..I sign for them, but when I open them I see the under side of box wet and soggy and with huge hole in it, like it was stood in a puddle!, inside some items there, others not, but can see how they would have fallen out of the hole - possibly. Patching up the hole is a clear large envelope, taped on, in it is an apology letter from Royal mail saying parcel damaged in transit - good, I think - proof for a claim....

Mailman didnt mention this to me when I signed, or maybe he didnt know?!

So, I think goods insured for up to £500, in a way Ive lost more on resale, but goods are worth less than £250, anyway I intend to claim the full amount for my hassle.

How do I do this I wonder, which part of order is worth what, I can supply real invoice, not a good idea as says £250, I can make an invoice saying £1000, then they will pay the max comp of £500 possibly.

BUT, big question, its come from my mailbox provider, THEY bought this insurance but they are not product supplier - how do I get around that - the mailbox will say not their goods, also will Royal mail wonder why I ship foreign goods to a box?

Suggestions to get my compensation

That's good UK question and I hope someone has good answer. I think you should at least get what you paid for it.
