All our 1st-class items with tracking numbers arrive (roughly) at the same time with our 'delivery confirmation only' items as long as they're in the same class.
The same two items; if the labels are purchased on eBay, or PayPal or anywhere else where you can get it scanned over the counter at the post office will deliver days or weeks earlier at the time compared to RM business account items even if you dropped it off at the same PO at the same time.
The simple explanation is: the delivery centres were short of staffs, yet overwhelmed with work. This lead to a decision to prioritise first foremost bags from the Postoffices over business customers. Royal Mail did not want a barrage of John does claiming for lost or delayed items.
Regarding business customers, you'd be required to count the pubic hair on a unicorn's genitalia to make a claim successfully.
RM played this one well.
