More ebay managed payments-

For those that have had some success with creating stealth Ebay with managed payments I have a question or 2.

I get the impression on here that the only way to activate MP is to submit real documents when signing up to managed payments.

So I have an account now that had been trading for several years under stealth Name, address, DOB ect.

So when I click the link to My Ebay I am met with the message "your steps away from getting back to selling" with a link to Update Account Details.

Click on that link and I get asked -
Do You operate your business as a legal entity?
I select Sole trader.

It then opens a page for Add Your Identity Information-
Now this defaults to the stealth name and address. DOB

Is this where I should now enter the my real details so My real Name, address and DOB? or should I be going into ebay settings first to change the account details?

You should go to your account settings first, change everything there to real details, then go to MP verification page.

I assume they are looking at the electoral register to confirm you exist.

forget the electoral roll , millions of people are not on it and it is meaningless for ebay purposes. they do check your visibility to the UK financial system

So on this front. As I already have a banned account using my own details. Now if I try to change stealth to my own details surely that will trigger automatic ban.

depends on whether banned on MP and for what reason

Hey Muzzie, I think that maybe the only way to change name, as I tried 'MP enroll > Name change' and I wasn't able to. But I've read the other way, 'Name change > MP enroll' can flag account. idk

You can change name in your account settings before enrolling

If you pass the check which they are doing (has to be real person, real address, real dob), then they will not ask for documents.

if it does not match you will be asked to upload an id. in the process of uploading you can change data. Address does not have to match with your real address.

Name and Dob have to match with the data on your id.

Uploading documents with do not match with the data on eBay will lead to a declining of the documents and asking ebay to upload them again.

There is no limit how many times this can happen and there is no limit how many times you can change the name dob and address.

BUT if you upload doctored documents the account will be suspended. if you upload real documents which are not very well visible, they will ask to re upload.

Note that you cant change the name if the account is suspended.

Let's say I put all real in MP except address (real address near my IP but not mine)
I upload real ID card, ok.
But what about doctoring the bank statement with that real address from my neighborhood that's not mine?

I haven't been requested to upload a bank statement hmm

So in a nutshell:
Change stealth details to genuine details.
Then register for managed payments.
Does it have to be current account or can savings account be added?
Then hope no documents asked for.
Then all good to go????

Current and savings account can be added but careful with savings since a few charge fees on withdrawals more than once a month

I didn't update name before signing up for MP (account seller's advice), but I can't change it now. Do you know anyway to change the name, after MP registration? ie upgrading to business account
