Hi all I have an update

Sent a few complaint emails off to paypal and the whole thing has disappeared the payments were refunded and the account limited lifted. My warning to be more careful I guess.

That was one of the weirdest limitations I’ve seen on PayPal. Glad you got it sorted by contacting them. They probably couldn’t believe it either.

Yeah I couldn't resist sharing it here because it's so weird. I think all financial institutions are required by law to blacklist certain names and this is what happened would have been easier if they just blocked it rather than asked for date of birth but that's paypal for you.

Going forward I won't use paypal unless essential to avoid this kind of crap. Lots of other ways to pay now. Disposable virtual credit card etc.
