EBay asking for Reciepts of my recent listings. Payouts on hold

You can try explaining to eBay that's how you got the items but with your past history, it's not going to be good enough for them.

Yikes. The problem with trying to find someone who can make invoices for you is nobody has a template they can edit for such specific (and expensive) items.


The high cost of the items is most likely what led them to shut your account down.

Are the car parts you are selling from expensive cars,do they look like in very good shape,do you know where the sellers get the parts from?

I know in US,car thieves will steal cars and chop them up,or ship them to Mexico?
Local police,US customs,FBI can all come to Ebay .

It’s mainly just engines but yea they are pretty clean parts. I’m going to submit some reciepts for the damaged cars which I’ve purchased and hope they will sufficient.

I just remembered one of the guys who lives on my apartment who shares the same WiFi as me was telling me how he got banned from eBay for selling counterfeit clothes or something. I’m now wondering if the IP has flagged up on eBay’s system and maybe they are doing this because of that? If so should I bring this up with them?

Reading that makes me shudder...I would NOT share same wifi with anyone if I'm doing strong business...get out of that business model immediately.

Go for your mobile IP or something that no one shares with you.

While sharing IP with compromised accounts has long known to be a contributory factor, I don't think bringing this up with eb will do much to help your case...keeping in mind how eb just tosses sellers if they are risky...in my opinion anyhow.

True - not the only factor...though I wonder if that other guy is using same address...maybe listing at exact same time, etc - those can all add into the issue basket

They have started asking for random stuff such as a lease agreement for my trading premesis/storage of parts place. I use a personal bank account with my home address on it and they have rejected my statement because it’s not matching the address in my eBay account. Because I told them I store my cars and parts at a place and now they asked for the lease/agreennt/utility bill from that place.

Also they have not accepted my bank transfers showing payments for cars and parts.

What kind of car parts?which brand?
Sounds like Ebay is checking to see if those parts come from cars stolen and stripped.
Ebay has to co operate with law enforcement,where did you source your parts,do you really have them in possession under your name?

One can have different addresses -home address where one lives,address where you ship what you sell,address to receive goods you bought,addr where you receive ebay mail.

the guy already said he has 5K-10K items , this means the account is toast

even 200-300 is considered high risk and people regularly get kicked out because of this alone

on 5K+ such requests mean: scheduled for termination

They're wanting to make sure you're legit and not just dropshipping from somewhere else. If you're actually storing your stuff offsite.. just give them what they're asking for.


It's overly pessimistic to say that selling expensive items is a death sentence on eBay as plenty of people do it.


Even if you've been buying stuff off of marketplace/in person, surely they gave you some kind of paper receipt, right? Without some kind of receipts they're going to think you're selling stolen goods.

eB has already rejected a document provided regarding bank info...this does not bode well as an account health indicator...

H showed bank statement showing debit entries,but it does not say what it is for?
Ebay wants to see an invoice showing he brought the item.
