Getting back on eBay after a few years break...

Greetings folks!

I havent posted on these forums for a long time now, I have recently been made unemployed unfortunately for me and I am thinking about getting back into selling on eBay again. I bought the original eBay 'Stealth' eBook and found it to be very good. I still have the PDF file and I am going through the process of setting up an eBay and Paypal Stealth account. Can anyone tell me if there are any new things to beware of since the earlier version of eBay 'Stealth' manual?

I keep reading conflicting things about using VOIP services for telephone verification. Also what address can I use apart from my own? Do I need a valid postal address to create a Paypal and eBay seller account? Its all seeming a bit daunting coming back to it all after a year or so.

Anyway I have an appointment at Santander tomorrow to open a basic bank account to get the ball rolling. If anyone can give me any tips on where to begin and what to look out for I would be enormously grateful. I want to get selling on eBay again ASAP as I currently have virtually no income and its not good when you are used to having your own money as you can imagine!!!

I have a room full of collectables and retro toys and computer games / consoles etc to sell and I want to get back into buying and selling which is what I did before getting booted off eBay for some ridiculous reasons. Hopefully this time I will not let eBay and Paypal destroy my business. I will check back in tomorrow evening and let you all know what progress I have made.

Sorry to here you've just been made unemployed.

For VOIP I use Soho66 costs £2.00 per month and you get to pick your number from an extensive list of available telephone numbers in your area. You can then divert it to your home/mobile then on to answerphone after telephone verification. Best to keep the number live for as long as your Ebay account is open.
For an address if you cant use your own, try the next best thing friend/relative (who isnt on Ebay) and get there permission. Its not like they will be getting a lot of mail, but you'll have the occasional returns, etc (even though you might email your customer with address to you want them to use). Most Ebay users are stubborn or just thick

With soho66 which software do you have to use for it?

I like using the X lite softphone 2.0 version, can I use this for soho?

Can you tell me if this Soho is ok to use to verify Paypal accounts as well as eBay accounts?

Its just their own In House software, you can redirect your chosen number anywhere. I have it redirected to my mobile phone. But you can also just direct it to an answerphone, Soho will inform you via email or text that you have a message to listen to.
