Default Address vs ip location

Ive made a good load of accounts but all our in my estate so im not too worried.

What im thinking about doing is making accounts with addresses that are about 20miles away from where i actually am.

Im wondering will this cause any flags if the ips are from different locations? I mean these new accounts will be only upto about 20/30 miles from where i actually am. Will this be an issue

im sorry this may have been asked b4 its just something im unsure about.

thats in advance

So you are asking if it's OK to make more stealth accounts with new stealth name & stealth address and make use of IPs not too close to their physical address?

If so, yes it should be OK. Lots of users here have IPs not so geographically located close by. When you do this make sure to keep a log of the IPs at all times,Steve

For a UK account based in the North, it's running on an IP in Kent....go figure

Thank you for the quick reply greenbean.

Im experienced enough in making accounts but i always kept them close too my actual location, but i was beginning to get a bit paranoid like maybe ebay would eventually catch on too me. So im going too make them further afield too minimize the risk & my paranoid. THANK YOU

Its strange you can be sitting in front of your computer paranoid as hell thinking ebay is watching your every move. Mind bending at times, specially when you're running multiple accounts

Would having an account registered 200 miles away from my actual location raise any flags? Is that maybe a bit too far ?

imo, no. It's a known fact to ebay/paypal, that users' access to t'internet depends on the ISP giving them access. So should that ISP give access via ports (or whatever the h they are called) then there are seldom problems. The proviso is staying within the allocated IP range shown when the account is first created.

I mentioned in that other post about that UK account & the location differences so I checked an account in AUstralia. On that account my log shows my geo-location as being 1200 miles from the actual address.
Hello, it is near a desert and no one lives there LOL. But the range stays the same so that part is not a problem

I used to use Vodafone mobile broadband to log in to stealth accounts, and IPBurger always shows I am in sydney (I m 7km away from CBD).

Recently I chnaged to Telstra NextG prepaid moile broadband, but when i use IP burger, it shows that I am in US most of the time. I am worried so i use other ip locator but then they show me I am in aussie.

Is this a concern? I searched through whirlpool and they said mobiel broadband Ip are not real they are NATed.

my i.p's are never spot on, you would be there weeks/months.

my i.p's usually show up in one of the major city's near me, that is about 23-25 miles away from the address i register.

i have had accounts and logged in almost 300 miles away from an Internet cafe, lately when i have done this i have had to do phone verification (eby) because my computer is not recognised, i never log into pp unless it is from the same computer i always use.

i not sure I.p is as an important factor as it used to be.

Default Re: Address vs ip location

Sorry to continue a old topic but I thought it would be better than starting a new one

I want to use a mail forwarding company based in London for my stealth but I'm located in Yorkshire, I will always be access my account from my home braodband so is account address location v IP location still not very important?

I only ask as the company in London offer excellent rates for the service compared to the local companies I've found, unless anyone in Yorkshire knows of a cheap company, less than £15per year (PM me if need be)

Cheers

It depends a lot on how your ISP handles IP distribution, and ISPs keep that kind of data, fairly understandably, under wraps. An IP will geolocate you to an extent, but not the kind of extent where someone could find your house on google maps or anything without a lot of guesswork (or, stalking).

Some ISPs like to distribute more based on geography, others don't really care or have a different kind of network structure. Without being intimate with the server hardware of the ISP, you can't really know for sure.

One of the most effective ways to try and geolocate an IP - ever seen one of those dodgy adverts for a chat/adult site that saying something like 'Looking for -cough, cough- in [town name]? Click here!" That's doing guesswork based on IP. When I lived in the UK, I lived in Glasgow and for some reason, consistently, the town name suggested was always Manchester. Here in Japan, it's constantly Tokyo despite me being a few hundred miles away.
