2500 dollar payment does not need to go through a middle man

Have them send cash, check, or western union

Welcome to the forums barton_67

Like F.Ed. has said, if you are doing something off eBay why go through paypal? You are just opening yourself to headaches...think about it - if I were Paypal and saw some weird 2500 amount come in with no explanation, I would want to know why? from whom? etc - limitation...

So many other ways to get money - anyhow, all the best. But in my own opinion, yes a big lump sum shot of $2500 won't cause limitation right away - it's when you try to withdraw that you may have problems. Paypal loves having money in the account...

I hesitate with people offering to end auctions early for high amounts - you should speak to the bidder - where is he located? Remember that Paypal is not fool proof - he could pay then bam, hit you with a chargeback.

But I digress - if you are absolutely set on this then yes 2500 is a big amount. Don't withdraw right away

Yes - you could use the funds to make purchases and withdraw a little BUT wait for item to be delivered, positive feedback to show up, tracking to show it's completed. Don't do anything with the funds as soon as you get it.

Paypal will do a lot to protect themselves if you try to jump too fast - handbag is also a VERY risky category since buyer satisfaction and knock-offs run rampant.

if your receiving money and your the seller - you state your terms

do u want to give a middle man their cut or
you want all of your money for yourself.

Id suggest if your shipping anything you should ensure it.

Thats way too much money to put in PayPals hands. I dont care how good the buyer is.

Period

A hand bag? Do you realize all the buyer has to do is say its ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and they get it free. Thats it! No proof. They just have to say so and its all over.

Sell it locally. If I were you I would pull the listing.

Personally I would say OK I will deal outside of ebay but only if you use another payment method.

Tell them to use bank transfer or any other method as it is still under the three thousand tax alert limit.

@barton_67, listen to what pod has said - he is bang on about the fact that if the buyer claims that the handbag is f*ke, you will be screwed - let alone the money involved.

For that sum + that handbag sold, you need to get your cash CLEAN meaning check, m.o., etc - don't let paypal get involved.
