Hmmm this is weird :S

So I started a stealth account only 3 days ago, it now has 26 positive feedbacks.... I decided to try something i worked out would work perfectly.
I sold an item £400+..
And even though the account is 3days old and only 26 feedback. the payment was not held by paypal.

It just went straight through into my pp account, i have added bank account and prepaid card... Not had the small deposits yet but not one payment hold.

Also, Ive done a £5 withdraw to bank account. - this was because obviously pp check the first withdraw and it takes something like 72hours to process and go through, then withdraws after this one go through in 24 hours (so they will be a lot bigger)

Any ideas why no payment hold?

Just to add -
Phone verified
Bank account added
Prepaid card added
-un verified.
no payment hold.

RESULT?

Does your PayPal account mention 21 days hold at all? On the account, not this transaction.

I have had the same thing happen before. Holds on some funds and not on others.

iLOVEmoney 06-01-2011 05:57 PM

not sure where exactly I would look for the mention of 21 day holds... But i know pretty much all accounts have them. very odd

NotAHappyBunny 06-01-2011 06:03 PM

hi
how did you get 26 positive feedbacks in 3 days?

:yar:

stealthmaster 06-01-2011 06:06 PM

Sounds very strange to me the payment not holding although you've got 26 positive feedback?, how have you got that sort of feedback on eBay in little time? plus 10 item limit?.

Stealth Master

stealthmaster 06-01-2011 06:09 PM

How did you receive the money did you request the money from the PayPal account?, or did they pay through eBay because if you requested the money from a PayPal account. And the buyer not entered the item number then I'd have thought PayPal wouldn't hold the money, I've done this before requested the money from a PayPal account and never had the money hold £600 I think once.

iLOVEmoney 06-01-2011 06:13 PM

first off. I made 22 feedback in 2 hours on the first day.
Tip- purchase from sellers based in HongKong/China, and when you leave them feedback they almost instantly leave it back...

Also, I sold the item through ebay, sent the payment details through ebay..
the buyer clicked 'pay now' and went through that process.

I never had a 10 item limit either...

stealthmaster 06-01-2011 06:19 PM

Could you confirm how old the eBay sellers account is because as of September 2010 all new sellers where hit with a 10 item limit a month for new UK eBay sellers accounts.

unkown5454 06-01-2011 06:21 PM

Lookout for feedback manipulation warning.

iLOVEmoney 06-01-2011 06:23 PM

Oh sorry I made myself unclear. I never sold, I merely bought from other members...

And to aboid the feedback manipulation. I bought items that were actual products, not guides etc.
So that the catergories they were listed in didnt raise any flags... e.g buying lots of informational products too fast would raise red flags i presume.
So i bought items such as . nintendo DSL 'stylus'... these sell for about 1p on auction, and they go off every 20 minutes with different sellers everytime.

Kind regards
Money

the account is 3 days old. no sales except for this first one. item sold for £400+ within 3 minutes of listing. payment made and not on hold.
Kind regards

stealthmaster 06-01-2011 06:27 PM

Can't see why PayPal didn't hold the transaction and three days old? doesn't sound right even with all the feedback three days doesn't give eBay a lot to go on. Fair play to you!

Stealth Master

ShadyOne 06-01-2011 06:27 PM

Oh, it's just 'buying' feedback, think some thought it may have been all 'selling' feedback.

So how many items you sold so far on this account?

iLOVEmoney 06-01-2011 06:29 PM

1st one just a few hours ago for £400. buyer paid instantly and money is available to withdraw or spend right now...

unkown5454 06-01-2011 07:14 PM

Buying dozens of $1 items rapidly from China sellers will still get you limited. I've only really seen it for ID verification, but has happened many times. So have the information ready.

Tons of people who sell illegal items and make $5,000 in one day practice the exact same methods, so watch your a s s.

i have 3 eb accounts, which were opened within a couple of weeks of each other, and they all did different things, which makes me think it is random:

account 1 - 100 a month listing limit, no p pal hold
account 2 - 10 a month listing limit, no p pal hold
account 3 - 100 a month listing limit, p pal payments held for 21 days, although that was lifted after a month of selling and getting good fback

now working on my 4th, which is an old seller account donated to me by someone, to which i attached new ppal. No payment holds, not sure about listing limit, although def over 10 as i have 20 plus at the moment. waiting till i get 10+ buyer fback with stars so i can get DSR ratings before i test it to 100 and beyond

I have seen it happen once or twice, seems to depend on the items I have sold, as some items I assume must be more high risk than others.

For some reason accounts that do that tend to get the hit from ebay rather than paypal. The ebay system is rubbish though and tends to mess up when you try to use it. Like that set a call thing, where no one calls.

So you may end up having to go through the ID process with both of them

And for the auto feedback, just buy from anyone that uses the listing tools, as most have auto feedback set.

Good discussion ongoing.

iLOVEmoney 06-02-2011 10:28 AM

Ebay just hit the limitations on about 30 minutes ago.
Not a problem.
Now i just need to get a new bank account tomorow. Register it with a new paypal and ebay account. And ready to go again.

medway30 06-02-2011 10:52 AM

did you get yr money out in time?

iLOVEmoney 06-02-2011 11:10 AM

I only sold one item and yeah i took £330 with me.
Not worth the trouble though..

medway30 06-02-2011 11:12 AM
