Default Shafted yet again.

I've been playing cat and mouse with eBay ever since I started using them back in 2004, Its not that I have done anything wrong, I haven't once scammed anyone but eBay are constantly making it out like that. Iv'e tried the confirming bull but I get your account will remain limited permanently.

My latest example I wanted to sell my phone, so signed up as I always do in a new browser with new IP, I suppose the one cock up I made was I verified using my own cell number which probably raised a flag, anyway auction went through fine, I sent the guy an invoice rather than him go through eBay and me have to face the 21 day hold, anyway he paid all was fine no problems.

So I used the fund to buy myself a new phone and pay eBay fee's, I did notice after a paid in eBay an egg timer beside the transaction so I knew something was up as payment was pending. So this morning my payment I made gets reversed and I get the following bull.

Quote:
To assist you, PayPal uses antifraud systems to detect and prevent fraud.

A review of the transaction below raised a suspicion that it may have not been authorised. As a result, we've reversed this transaction.

I then get.

Quote:
We regret to inform you that your eBay account has been suspended due to concerns we have for the safety of the eBay community.

You may appeal the suspension by replying to this email.
and

Quote:
Your item(s) have been ended due to concerns we have for the safety of the eBay community. Any fees associated with these listings have been credited to your account
Yes fee's credited back to my eBay account which they will never reopen so they have effectively stole my seller fee's, I refunded the guy who paid me what I had in my account but have no way to get the seller fee's back to refund him the rest.

But you no what really pisses me of about all this? Its made out like I am a criminal, lets stand back and take a look at what I just did? What part of this said SCAM? yet eBay make out like I am, the guy who paid me thinks I am.

Any advice? Where did it all go wrong? How do I get the remainder of the guys fee's back?

You don't ever start a new account with a high risk item like that. That is what caused your account to go down.

Exactly what cardfelon said.

But as far as eBay knows, OP is just a new user who probably finally decided to make an account and sell his phone. It's harsh for them to shut him down like this, and if he was a new user then I think there's no way he ever does any business with them again considering that they just caused him a giant headache + charged him for it just because he was trying to sell one thing.

But I guess they do what they gotta do

EDIT: Unless you were linked to a suspended account in which case that is to be expected from eBay.

fees are yet to be paid, right? so that means you got credited back the FVF, so you do not get billed for it...

and as for insertion fee, you will get billed for that, you owe the insertion fee.

hows your paypal doing, still standing?

Yep, i have said the same thing. Ebay/Paypal causes more headaches for them selves trying to prevent scams, than if they just waited week to see if it was delivered.

Paypal is limited, What happened was I used the money to pay the FVF, £30 or so, they refunded the FVF back to the eBay account so at the min my balance is -£30, in order to get my account reinstated I have to do the Paypal crap of verifying everything which I did in the past as got fed up running and I got the

"LIMITATION CAN NOT BE LIFTED" rubbish, so effectivly there is no way of me getting the FVF back.

Well my advice would be to:
1. Create a new stealth account
2. Start Slow
3. Don't give up

oh yea and try to save your old account

Why did you refund the buyer? Did you not post the phone to him?

I have had a buyer win an item from me in the past and then log into his paypal account and open a case for ' I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THIS TRANSACTION' after a day or two of paying for it and when i already mailed the item to him.
I then i got a similar email from paypal who held the funds while they investigate it.
I had to call paypal and supply proof of postage etc...

I guess if the buyer paid for your phone using a different ip than he is normally logged into then paypal will reverse the transaction.
Buyers probably do this in the hopes to try scam us sellers who have already mailed out items to them...and you having low ratings i guess didnt help your case either :(
