Default Cannot add a card to paypal

Hi can anyone help?
Have set up a stealth account and paypal account. I have added a bank account successfully but cannot add my card details, it keeps saying my bank cannot authorise it?
I want to start selling to make some money for xmas but can't sell anything without setting up payment for sellers fees.
Any help would be grateful.
I am with Natwest by the way xx

You need funds on the card.

The card is activated and has been for a month or so now. I will transfer £5 and try again.
